Its always nice to ask a good question 60,000 posts in! haha

I am looking to sync anything I can wirelessly. If its only pics and video, than I'm ok with that. But if there is a way to do everything in real time............I'm sorry......my heart skipped a beat there.

Which TV are you getting??

GSMArena mentions DLNA in their specs sheet. Not sure if there is an app on the phone though.

I see a lot of people are getting TPU cases. Is there a general consensus that this is one of the best cases? For everyone else what cases are you getting? Additionally who won't be using a case?

I will not be using a case. I'll get the insurance and go from there. I was a strict case user, then stopped on a whim and never looked back. I will strongly contemplate a screen protector, but that's it.

I love the feel of the phone naked and the ability to plop it into a car dock or remove the battery without disrobing it.

i wont be using a case. i will be using a puch/holster. not a hard holster, but a leather one. one that fits the phone like a glove, not too big or small but just perfect. i've had bad experiences with hard cases or holsters that snap the phone into them. i dont like friction points where scratches/ wear and tear can happen so i have been using pouch holsters.

also no magnets in the pouches just in case. also not a fan of screen protectors, i like a naked phone and i am always "OCD" careful with my phones.

No it's a single log in for vzw branded apps for those of us who use some. Like I use the My verizon app to track usage for my mother in law and I love NFL mobile. So it allows me to use those apps

So, if the Nexus is coming bloat-free (mostly) - how to get the NFL app? Will it be available under a vendor/VZW tag in the Market?

What brand of holsters to you find to be the best?

I completely agree with your OCD comment. And speaking of OCD, I voted for option 1 for the simple fact that changing the forum just didn't FEEL right.

What about you?

Thats actually the same one I'm looking at. Or the 7000 series. They have been having some really good sales on the 7000 series lately.

I have an HLP5085w right now (love that set) but its getting close to upgrade time as its 7 years old.

It looks like Sena is getting close on their case/pouch offerings for the GNex. They don't have a listing yet, but they do have the Gnex pictued for Google phones in the scrolling selector at the top of this page:

Sena Cases - Designer Leather Cases : BlackBerry case, iPhone case, Treo case, iPod Touch case, and other PDA cases

Considering that the UN55D8000 lists at $3500, I thought I got a DANG good deal on it. Bought it from Amazon on Thanksgiving Day for $1938 (through Paul's TV), including White Glove shipping (they bring it in, unbox it, turn it on, test it out, and haul away the packing materials). So for little more than a high-end Walmart TV we got the top-of-the-line 3D model delivered.

The 7000 is just about as good. Contrast ratio is a little lower, but I'm not sure it'll make a difference in real life. I don't think you can go wrong with either one :)

And I'm replacing a 12-year old 36" CRT TV

Church time! Have fun guys and be excellent to one another :)

Nice!

Can't imagine that being anything other than the built-in DLNA server, so no extra apps required. (Many of the DLNA servers I've seen in Android have been an OEM version of iMediaShare anyway - so if the built-in one lacks any features (doubtful) check out iMS in the Market (both can co-exist on a phone without issues).)

For those unfamiliar with DLNA -

How It Works - DLNA

And if you don't have a DLNA server on a PC as suggested by that website, don't worry - that's the part the Nexus will play. You just need a DLNA-compliant TV hooked to your home network (mine's a Samsung, check your owner's guide for DLNA) and you're all set.

tl/dr - DLNA is a file-sharing deal specifically for things like TVs to pull media in from things like your Nexus, using your TV's remote control. Works great.

Are you able to feel the phone vibrating easily while in the case?

Yes. The ultraslim case is thin leather, like a pair of unlined driving gloves. There's a microfiber liner inside for scratch resistance.

Pardon the hand model

The cutest model I could find on short notice. He stopped trying to bite the case long enough for one shot.

also the search bar is stuck there at the top don't forget that

incorrect. you can "disable" it like any other app from the settings menu and it will be disabled... if you want to remove and uninstall it obviously that can be achieved through root, but just to remove it and gain back the screen space you can disable it

heres the video from earlier today showing it:

Oooh, I love watches. I have a ton of them. I don't wear much in the way of regular jewelry, but I love watches. My personal favorites are Panerai. Huge watches on a girl, but I love them.

Way off topic:

Love the watches and a passion of mine is product photography ;). Nice Panerai OTD!

I really dig Japanese (JDM) pieces as well!

I will upload a pic shortly.

If i find a pouch I like i may not use a case, but I will be ordering a TPU car to have on deck for bar nights or other rowdy adventures.

I kept my OG naked except a screen protector, but it wound up pretty smashed, the slide out keyboard is loose and crooked and there are gouges in the metal at the corners from being dropped. Which always happened at he bar.

so after much debate, and indecision, I think for me, I need the option of a new case when called for, but mostly she will be nekkid :) and the Sena pouch is very classy so i think it might be the one for me!
