Hello everybody. Just got back from my STATS final...Anyone feel like filling me in since the pictures of the Verizon box? That's the very last I saw before I had to leave...Everybody still optimistic about a Friday release or did something new come up? Thanks.

Don't think for a minute that 'by the end of the year' may also come and go without the GNex. On the Verizon FIOS side, the NY area has been waiting for over ONE YEAR for a software upgrade that most of the country has already gotten.

In fact THREE TIMES Verizon has put up on the FIOS menu "A new FIOS is coming soon' only to have taken it down THREE TIMES because of screw ups and pure incompetence.

Having had more dealings with Verizon than I care to admit, having the end of the year come & go without a GNex wouldn't surprise me in the least. :(

I still have my heart and mind set on the 8th or 9th until those days pass and our beloved phone is still not released.

Well, I'm going to end the convo about open1your1eyes right here. I have mixed feelings about the whole thing. I was all ready to jump on the open1your1eyes bandwagon, when our more experienced mods noticed a grave problem with the IP address used. It matched the address of some nefarius and banned (? I forgot) former users.

We had our eye on the situation and I stopped pursuing open1your1eyes for that reason. It is no surprise to me that open1your1eyes reacted this way. His/her reaction lessened his/her credibility in my eyes, even more.

When The Source was attacked last month? S/he told me not to worry about those folks and keep pressing on and that s/he didn't care either way, so I shouldn't either. Mind you, my source had demonstrated credibility before this point.

Having said that. We are officially done with open1your1eyes comments. Let him/her fade out. I will be drawing another of my famous lines. Under this line there will be love and respect for one another in our endeavor. :)

I am getting bummed out again. I can't take this. I feel bipolar. Its coming out this week...yay! It's been delayed...boo! What the heck is going on? Why can't we just get a date? I was told this Thursday by one sales rep and two stores I called said no clue yet...UGH!!!

I just got home from Baseball practice and I had a message from my VZW rep from our local corp. store here in Owasso, OK. I call her back and ....

She told me that the Nexus was coming out Thursday. She said that they were not getting much stock in. First question I ask was if there had been an official announcement from Verizon because I had been away from the blogs since about 2:45 - 3:00, pathetic I know, She said, no, that right now they are doing an "informal" announcement to the people who had been reaching out to them about the phone, because there won't be much stock. Next thing she said was....will you be interested in a "MIDNIGHT LAUNCH"???? My answer....uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.......YES!!!!!!!! As of right now I have an appointment for Wed night/ Thur morning at midnight. She is guaranteeing me one Galaxy Nexus and one spare battery with charger kit!!!!!!!

GETTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTY UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think the more times I get my hopes up on these "leaked release dates", the more annoying they get. I thought for sure the 8th/9th was going to happen, what with all the different independent sources pointing towards that.

So am I going to believe the 15th now? Nope. I'm expecting it by the end of the year. That is the only thing Verizon has said to us, and while that may slip even still, at least it's the last official word from the company who will be (at least we can hope) selling the device.

Sorry, don't mean to be a downer, but I'm just tired of all the false hope. As far as I'm concerned I have 26 more days to wait, and if it happens sooner than that it'll be a welcomed surprise.

Just think of how the poor guys that bought into a couple of store reps claims that "You can pick up your reserved phone on Friday" feel.

Oh yeah, and then there was the guy on AC that we were told is 'very reliable' when he said the stores have them in stock now (or thousands were being shipped...forgot which) and will be releasing them late this week. Uh huh.
