CheckROM Revolution v4.0

i found my battery was running down far too fast, down from 100% to 15% with medium use over the course of 8 or 9 hrs with DK kernal.
decided to do a full wipe and flash eveything again, will see how it gets on tomorrow.

i'm finding that even with full wipes, and reflashes, it still seems like there are parts remaining from previous roms, stupid things like my lockscreen image never goes to standard, its always a wallpaper i put on it months ago.

so i'm also thinking that maybe previous crap is causing battery drain to be so bad.
not sure but if it keeps up like this i will have to look into a full reflash of original software to get a clean phone again. just a PITA installing all my apps and settings.

When you do a full wipe, how many times do you wipe? As daft as it sounds, and they say the same thing in the original thread, you need to do it twice to make sure. I never have any trace left...that I can tell...certainly no wallpapers or settings etc when I do this:

Wipe Data/factory reset
Wipe Cache
Wipe Dalvik-Cache
Wipe Battery Stats
Wipe Data/factory reset
Wipe Cache
Wipe Dalvik-Cache
Wipe Battery Stats

Maybe it could work for you to get a properly clean installation?

i was doing:
Wipe Data/factory rest
run kernal cleaner script
run kernal cleaner script
wipe data/factory reset
run kernal cleaner script
wipe data/factory reset

i didnt bother so much about the cache or davlik-cache as these are wiped when the new roms install so never really seen the need.

so far i've still seen the image for my lockscreen being what it used to be albeit after i've restored some settings, so maybe thats my problem.

but after yesterdays horrific battery drainage today is working well so far:
1hr 2mins and still at 100% only checked facebook for a minute or so but yesterday this would have drained at least 5% in the same time frame.

looks like a full on wipe what you can before installing the rom and kernal is the way to go with this one

I always manually wipe cache and dalvik from my HTC Desire days. I always seemed to get weird results when I didn't.

You could be right about system settings though. I never restore any system settings as I have always had massive problems when I try and do that. I backup user apps and data, then restore user apps and data. System settings I redo each time manually.

For those of you on CWM5+ that have the kitchen install problem, renaming your clockworkmod folder on your EXTERNAL SD card will cure the problem.

Just remember if you do any more CWM backups they will get recreated in that location and you would have to move the resulting backup folder out into the renamed location and delete clockworkmod folder

It has to be renamed to "freddymurcurylovessausages" or your device will get bricked!

:D

:D

One downside though, you can't restore any backups from the renamed folder as its not recognised so after you've done flashing you need to change the name back. Still allot quicker than doing them all manually though.

right i have , i just put a "1" at the end of clockworkmod folder, went to kitchen pro , picked some items (ice cream sandwhich v1.5,NEKD5,Android zaps apple menu ,apply .it rebooted but nothing changed , now when i go to kitchen pro those items have SD card pics next to them ?

The ones with the SD card picture means they have been downloaded onto your internal sd card.
Are you sure you renamed the external sd card folder, and not the internal sd card folder?

"external sd card folder, and not the internal sd card folder?" ??

i connected the phone to pc , connected usb storage, opened highlighted folder and changed it there

It's good to know someone out there has a folder on their external sd card called freddymercurylovessausages

Has anyone noticed any improvements to photo/video playback using the new Bravia Engine?
I cant to be honest, but I think it would need a side-by-side comparison to check properly.
Also:
I installed ICS v1.5 theme from the kitchen
All looks ok, except I get FC on anroid.process.acore
My phone icon is changed, and I dont get phone or contacts in the app drawer any more.

Any ideas anyone please?

My only suggestion would be clearing data in Contacts app old bean.

Not sure I can be bothered resetting back all the ringtones etc.
I've restored back for the time being butty.
Thanks tho old fruit!

Have you tried that Bravia mod yet?
Curious to hear peoples thoughts on this one.

Well I'm your idiot. I'd say there's definitely a slight improvement in picture quality. Its not going to blow you away at how much better it looks but worth the download. On the other hand though it could all be placebo and my minds just playing tricks on me.
