Oh I was wondering if Google+ could be disabled on the GN. I have no use for it since I don't use it I don't see the need for these Google Apps such as the search bar being on every screen could be avoided. Thanks in advance.
 
i posted earlier (my very first here) after my verizon rep called and invited me to come check out the nexus. I rushed out there on my way to class and just wanted to update everyone that i got to see it and have it in my hands! Unfortunately there was no active phone to try out and play with but he did bring out a box with about 10 or so nexus boxes in there and opened one of them. They come in plain white boxes and are red inside. Anyways, i was bummed that I wasnt going to get to give ICS and that HD screen a quick ride but was glad to have the phone in my hands at least. I had heard it was going to be light but wow, it still surpised me at how light it really is. Made my DX feel like a brick. Felt great in my hands and just absolutely loved the design. I of course tried to see if i can get the phone a littel earlier but alas he wouldnt budge

I am glad I decided to wait for this phone after almost going for either the iphone 4s or the Razr a few weeks ago. Something about this phone just felt right when i held it, even when it wasn't even on. I cant wait to go back on Friday to pick up my device. This weekend is going to be amamzing!!!

Good question doesn't seem like much of a difference at all does it?

It seems that some employees know and some act like they don't know. It's hard for me to believe that some have no idea. Corporate might have put a lot of pressure on them so secrecy may remain at a premium? idk but I think it has gotten so late in the game that there is no hiding it anymore, for whatever reason.

Also I was told that the store cannot do 3G->4G early upgrades so I dunno if that is true but he told me customer service (1800) can do a 3G->4G early upgrade so it looks like I'm going to have to order mine on the 9th overnight-ed and get it Saturday.

Kellex said he doubted there would be a pre-order. It doesn't seem likely that there will be anyways, given the in-store evidence we've received, it wouldn't really make sense.

I was trying to find some good comparison photos. Doesn't look like it really added anything. What do you all think?

Note: the second pic is from The Verge and is a comparison of the GSM vs the LTE version. I just wanted a side view pic of the LTE version showing the camera area and the bump to compare with the side view from P3Droid.
 
My main concern after the phone comes out besides all other accessories is getting that goofy VZW back cover off and getting a GSM plate immediately!!!
 
so being a complete android noob, and looking forward to upgrading from my 5 year old flip phone, i have a few questions...

1. I'm considering unlocking the bootloader, but would only do this bc i might decide to root my phone later, but right now i cant think/dont know of any reasons to root it, so i was planning on waiting...but I dont want to void my warranty for nothing. And ive heard that there are ways to undo the root/unlock but that the stores can still tell that you had originally unlocked/rooted it...any thoughts on that?
2. I'm hesitant to not unlock the phone right away(only reason not to is bc of voiding the warranty) bc if i decided later that i do want to this will wipe my phone, which might suck! So with that in mind, is there no way to NOT unlock the phone right away, and IF i decide i want to unlock it I could backup my phone onto a hard drive or my comp and then unlock it and then reload my contacts and such?? Or is that unpossible?


Sorry for the incoherent rambling, Im sure most(even I) probably cant decipher my exact questions, but i appreciate any input! :)

if that's all the extended battery adds, then I'm getting one. 2 + hours makes a big difference when you're running around on set or doing pick-ups with out a car charger, or worst of all, stuck on a set with nothing by a genny for power! :eek: that's a big issue. everyone who comes to Detroit to shoot a film that low budget, doesn't get the equipment needed to shoot in all the abandoned places that look so good on camera. I need as much battery as I can get.

So I think this is my plan;

extended battery
battery charger
portable USB back up charger battery thing (for the worst emergencies)

I already have probably 3 wall chargers and 2 car chargers, but I think I might get a third to keep in my set backpack.

Crazy thing was that the main point of the segment was the wallet and how it wasn't safe enough for Verizon standards. The mention of the phone was an afterthought.
And there was NO mention of ISIS, haha.

I believe you can just uninstall it since it is a downloadable app. Although disabling apps are present on the GN so you should be able to go that route as well.

Ditto here. Man, how disappointed will I be if I can't order my phone until Friday? Unfortunately that's the vibe I getting at this point. Our Verizon corporate salesman called this afternoon and told us it wouldn't be available for business pre-orders until Friday. I called BS at the time because a. He's a moron and b. all the release news was just hitting the forum. We've always had great luck with pre-orders and shipments arriving next day. But this is a different ball game I guess.

Oh, please don't think it is like that. I play poker for a living and I don't have tons of money. The only reason I was able to get anything is that I have played a lot of tournaments lately where Best Buy gift cards are the door prizes or side prizes. I won enough over the year to cover me for the Nexus and some other Christmas gifts I needed to get this year.

I grabbed a beer the second I got home at about 6, but I really nursed that one. I think I need a few more to write this stupid paper. I'm all for feminism, but the 'technical jargon' they use is just strange. (And this coming from a girl who's minor is philosophy, I find Heidegger easier to read! Google him, its dense stuff, like beyond Neitzche dense).
