***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

I understand your point/s and appreciate your response however you still haven't answered my question. What do you suggest we do to let Verizon Execs know we're frustrated right now and could really use something from them? I'm assuming you're saying we should do nothing and be quiet and just wate....

What is it you want? A promised release date, right? You're not getting that. And any answer other than that is only going to frustrate you further and be taken as a "lie" anyway.

They are simply not going to commit to a release date a minute sooner than they're ready to.

So Kellex just updated his article.

His "not launching on the 9th" proof? The fact that the Equip. Guide no longer says the 9th. It has been replaced with "launching soon".

We knew about this last night btw...

This is nothing new...

Did anyone stop to think that after yesterday's HUGE leak of this screen that Verizon simply wants to remain secretive for whatever reason, so they took that line off of the guide for no other reason than that?

IMO, everyone is freaking out for no reason.

The facts on this are still emerging.

I find it weird that the release of a cell phone can have the feel of a criminal investigation.

The Windsock just tweeted this in response to a bunch of tweets about the delay: Stay classy, jackass.

You're starting to remind me of a repeat offender who just cannot get enough.

I only hear what those depressing twitter guys say in here and would not miss much if anything if that stopped.
None of those guys seem fun to be around yet they flock in to follow.

My Granny used to say "Pain my boy............. will help you remember!"

Some more bad news after talking to Verizon...

Didn't get any release info, dude said he didn't know anything, and what he did know he couldn't break because of a non disclosure agreement. What he did say was VERY INTERESTING.

He said there is a strong possibility that the Galaxy Nexus will not be able to be purchased with an early upgrade. Currently, the only other phone that has had this stipulation has been the iPhone. The iPhone is categorized as an "Iconic Device" and therefore orders are placed through a totally different system, where even managers are not allowed to place an order through with an early upgrade.

While he said the Galaxy Nexus isn't confirmed as an Iconic Device, he said that his system window on the Galaxy Nexus has a hit counter at the bottom of the screen that displays how many inquiries they've had in regards to the Galaxy Nexus, and that number is apparently "blowing up." Additionally, the only other device that has used this hit counter has been the iPhone, leading him to believe it's going to be an "Iconic Device" as well.

May not be bad news for all of the OG Droid owners out there, but if you were planning on having your upgrade date pushed up like I was, might as well start planning for the possibility of paying full price.

This kills my hope for a Friday launch. Yesterday this same page listed Dec 9th as the release date. Now it simply says "Launch date is coming soon"?!? Verizon, you make me angry...

I would be happy if they came out and said that it's in testing and will be released soon, of course I would really like a release date however they haven't mentioned anything official in months now, just to acknowledge we exist would be pretty nice, you have to admit...

I think it was intended to come out on the 9th, from that screen shot leaked yesterday that has now changed to "coming soon". I think this delay is all Verizon, not necessarily jumping the gun on the bloggers' part. If you get an internal memo from Verizon that flatly states .

Yes, but I wouldn't create definitive headlines and change thread titles based on a leak that may or may not be accurate or authentic.

No. . .I don't think so. If I don't have it in my hand this weekend, I think I'll be going with TP.

So how is toilet paper going to satisfy your Nexus cravings? :D

this is exactly why I did not get myself excited....verizon is just terrible....terrible in so many ways. I cannot wait until another carrier has competitive coverage I will be the FIRST person to jumpship on verizon I hate them. BUT they have the best coverage so for that reason I stay and that is literally the only reason (albeit a good one). I hate everything else about them.

Actually, you might be right. Even though my store rep said its DEFINITELY NOT launching on the 9th, she could have just been looking at the equipment guide as well.

She also said they usually get phones the morning of the release date. So, in theory, it could still release Friday...

I was just in a corporate store talking to the manager. He told me they had their demos in and were expecting there units today. He said the release date was still on Friday. So I really have no idea what's going on now. At this point I don't think anyone knows what's going on including Big Red....

I have never quoted myself before. Bad Karma?

Yeah, I know.

I just got the confirmation I have been waiting on. Trusted source for many years, Phones in, launch Friday.

Nope, not gonna say more. Dont care if you believe me.

I will have one Friday, unless vzw corp changes the game again.

Apparently, my qualifier screwed the pooch. Sorry. I knew better.

So, perhaps back to this?

Hmmm ......

WHITE Razor
Good'ol moto radio
Good'ol moto gps
micro sd
water resistant

= viable alternative for me

I would still like to hold the gnex and hear of real world results with radio strength and gps before pulling any trigger.

I know Sammy is "great" and all, but I still remember soooo many sammy issues from over the years. Yeah, I know. Moto has issues too. So does HTC and the rest. Moto issues usually dont include radio or gps.

Just thinkin during the wait.

So, I usually dont early adopt to let others work the bugs out and take the new pricing hit. Add to that list this non-launch. Sanity has value.

Or, maybe I go back to my summer rant and plan to let my contracts expire and be a "new" customer for some other carrier for 2 years. Then I can be a "new" customer to veriZon again. Play the "New Customer" game?

I donno. Gonna step back before I make a stupid emotional decision that I will regret later.

Plus, I still dont know if this Sammy device has a good radio and gps. These have been my concern all along.

If stores continue to get their units, most likely it will be out next week, sure they could be asked to send them back, but historically that almost never happens.

The problem is we don't know if there was any internal e-mail sent to stores or other sources that expressly stated that December 9th was not happening or if Kellex's sources are just assuming Dec. 9th is no longer valid because of the updated equipment guide.

Point is...we don't know.

I don't think it helps that phandroid has up an article titled Bug causes galaxy nexus to be useless. Remove this article or change the name to cheap cables do this to all phones. Samsung seems to make these cheap cables or maybe it's the box that goes in the wall, I dunno but my gf's gs2 has this problem with stock cable and I don't want Verizon to get wind of this and delay the phone just to replace all the cables/adapters.
I want my nexus, and I want it now!

I'm guessing we're going to get a preorder today or tomorrow (overnight or Saturday shipping). Being able to buy accessories today I think is a good indicator things are starting to populate into the system. I'll probably call back later, check the status of my extended battery/case order, and attempt to order the device again.

This is the text from the article:

Not necessarily the post I wanted to start the day with, but in the span of 15 minutes, multiple sources reached out because they were informed that the Galaxy Nexus is no longer launching on December 9 (this Friday). I
