***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

Hey Verizon, I just paid my phone bill. Can I please have the Nexus now?

This BB Curve cannot make use of LTE, even though I'm paying for it. I think you owe me some NEXUS.

As someone who has been on AT&T for years I can tell you there is a reason they are continually getting last on the Consumer Reports rankings. I get a ton of dropped calls and regularly show service but unable to connect to the network to start a call or open a webpage.

This whole Nexus thing sure is frustrating and making me dislike Verizon before I ever have their service, however I have no doubt that life on their network is going to be much more enjoyable than anything on AT&T.

So my option is:

1. Awesome phones with crappy network (but still 4G in Chicago).

2. Awesome network with absolutely no phones that appeal to me.

Just got off the phone with the corp. store I have an appointment for on Friday and she said Friday is still a go. I asked if she heard anything about it getting delayed, and she said she hasn't heard anything and told me they have stock and I have my name on one for Friday.

Which location in Illinois??

or because of the lack of information that has been thrown our way since the announcement of the phone. It's interesting how every other carrier for the Gnex worldwide, has in one way or another, given their customers some sort of information. I feel like a fool following a phone in this way when ive never even held it or seen it in action.

Fair enough. Tell Siri I said hello :D

Lol hate to say it guys, but I called it last night when the date was first pulled from the equipment guide. Talked to my rep, no more Friday for me, going back to the waiting game. The way I'm looking at this is, having played with it last night it is by far the best experience I've ever had on an Android, so if I'm going to stay with Android I have no choice but to wait for it. The only other choice is the Iphone and I really don't want to go that route (will if this doesn't launch before Christmas) so I'm going to be patient.

Edit: Just texted me back saying he has the phones, but that the launch looks to be next week if not the week after. Take it FWIW.

While I can see you point, I wish people would stop denying that an official launch date was issued yesterday. It was official and that's that. These weren't rumors or leaks or anything like that. Verizon employees across the country were officially provided with launch dates and permitted to communicate those dates to their customers. These are representative of the company, just like any other representative and they were backed by Verizon to start the sales process (i.e. reserve phone, make appointments, ect.). Even if it was a computer glitch, Verizon has now made an official misstatement to it's customers and they should at least step up to the plate and admit their error.

I didn't see a VZW press release stating the 9th. "Leaked" documents don't count...at all...as informing the public.

What is the percentage of LTE coverage in the US, about 15%?

I will not get LTE until they land the first man on Mars.
So give me the damn phone, I do not care if LTE works or not.

Besides I think the LTE rumors are all BS anyway.

Um, LTE currently is in almost 200 cities, covering about 200 million people, or about 2/3 of the US population. So it affects quite a bit more than 15% of the people out there. And considering that LTE is Verizon's major marketing topic right now, it would be foolish to release a phone knowing it had LTE issues.

WTH?! Can someone catch me up? Last night, it was a LOCK for the 9th. Even my local VZW store finally said it was officially in their system for the 9th release. Why are we now thinking it won't be until next week or later!?!?

Nobody knows what is going on but a rumor is that the 9th is no longer valid.

It's a mass ball of confusion and PEPs.

Stay tuned!

I don't even feel like I should post in this thread anymore because I have either been called names or ignored. My source has been named in this thread several times, and then his twitter has been bombarded both publicly and via DM's.

So, as my last post in this thread since I am allowed to be hated/name called without repercussions, I will only and again say this. And I am not the xxx.1.xx.1q guy.

If you are very, very lucky, you will have an opportunity to pre-order this week (as I previously posted the week of 12/5), but ultimately the Samsung i515 VZW LTE phone will not release until (AGAIN) the week of 12/12.

good night, and good bye.

And as I have posted many times, by 12/15, most all of you should have this phone in your hands.

good luck

When I hear about futher perceived delays... teddyearp's posts are brought to mind.. Hmmm

Then again, recall our UK cousins have been running the Nexus happily for some time now, since November.

The GSM version, with significant hardware and software differences. That seems particularly relevant, if the holdup now is related to LTE.

well, we have 70,000 to look forward to..

If that's true, what's wrong with that. Corporations are in business to make profits.

Also, if the delay is due primarily to help sell other phones, what's wrong with that if that motive meets VZ's overall objective to make more profits? In other words, why should our general impatience outweigh corporate objectives?

Corporations are in the business of making money. That's true. But who gives them that money? And what ever happened to "the customer is always right". I'm not saying all this is relation to what's happening with the Nexus. Perhaps it really does have issues and Verizon really is doing what's in our best interest, even if we don't like it. But Verizon, in the past, has done some pretty crappy stuff for no other reason than to make as much profit as possible without caring if their customers actually need/want it.

Verizon was kind enough to send me a rezound to replace my 6 month old droid charge (Lucky...I know). Anyone thinking of passing on the Nexus and getting the rezound will not be disappointed. It's fast. The screen is amazing. Feels good in the hand. Beats sounds pretty good.

That said... I'm still getting the Nexus if it's released before CES (I'm going again this year). If not I'll wait until the next big thing hits.

The Rezound is a great phone and a really great piece of hardware, I had it for 2 weeks. I only returned it in anticipation of the GNex, but I may well go back to it if all else fails.

THIS WHOLE THING IS ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS.....I come check here every 45 mins or so to see what way the wind is blowing....half of the people on here are freaking out saying its not coming out friday, the other half say they have appointments and reserved phones to pick up friday......WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE I literally just laid back in my chair and started laughing this is such a disaster.... you would think verizon never released a phone before and its there first time doing this...

Sigh. I guess I'm not surprised. I'd rather have the phone now and use it only on 3G until 4G is working (if that's the cause of the delay), but I totally understand why they wouldn't want to release it until LTE is fixed.

Well my hopes are this, 9th was the date as of yesterday going off of the equipment guide from VZW. so the way i see it, VZW has a day and a half to resolve whatever issues have come up, which is a lot of time when it comes to a multi billion dollar company (whether this be VZW, SAMSUNG, GOOGLE that have an issue that is holding the launch) so honestly the 9th is still extremely attainable especially since shipments have gone out.

If shipments hadn't gone out at this point and there was an issue that was to get resolved by the 9th, then the shipments would still have to go out and probably wouldn't arrive until Monday or Tuesday. but at this point the issue could be resolved and VZW could start selling immediately.

TL;DR The 9th still gives plenty of time for issues to get resolved and the phone to be sold on the 9th.
