Samsung Fin! That was it. Made my old RAZR look thick by comparison, and it was physically tougher than the RAZR.

Verizon LTE phones do require a sim card.

Right but my OG Droid is not, so how can I use it as a backup for the GNex?.. I guess it comes down to whether or not they still do the OTA programming updates for phone swapping like they used to.

1. Congrats to Mikey, none of the other news in here holds a candle to what you and your wife found out. Awesome stuff!

2. Congrats to Steven, can't think of a nicer, more deserving guy I would have been happy to donate what little I could as well. Above that though, wish a speedy recovery to your wife for me, like I said about Mikey, this phone and the BS around it has nothing on actual hurts/blessings.

3. Whether or not this phone comes out on Friday, it's worth the wait. If you are intent on sticking with Android, you cannot do better IMO.

4. I've got 24 hours of studying ahead of me for a Statics final on Saturday, I am not looking forward to this at all haha.

Hey guys, i've been lurking here for the last month and a half. Great thread, guys!
Just wanted to share some info, went to costco today and saw a dummy Nexus on display. Talked with the guy, asked when it's coming out, he said friday and was quite sure of it.
Also price is 289. The costco package includes, if i remember correctly, all the standard crap and a screen protector.

Please don't scream at me if this info is already known :)

Thanks for that info and WELCOME!
PS. I read somewhere that COSTCO's accessories come about 8 weeks later. I thought you get them at the time of purchase.

From what ive seen I agree. I would buy a note in a second if it was on VZW. All I do is music/text/forum/IM/movies on my phone. I make maybe 30 calls a month, and maybe use 100 minutes of talk time...

Yeah, the Note looks great. Coming from an OG the Rezound is much larger -- but not too big.

I liked the GNex's subtle and natural curve over the Nexus S...IMO

Don't forget the rich Corinthian leather.

Will the big red do this to us again tonight?

To go from a Gnex to your OG if you needed too, all you need to do is power down your Gnex and go to verizonwireless.com and swap them out. Then *228 on the OG.. I just did this a few weeks ago going from the Tbolt to a OG

this guy on reddit has been claiming to have close inside ties to the Nexus launch for a while (grain of salt, blah blah blah)

dreadnaughtfearnot comments on 6 theories about the VZW Galaxy Nexus delay

also scott - you now seem to be a mini-meme on reddit. congrats, youre reddit-famous:D

Apparently people have taken a liking to giving me custom flair through a thing called Reddit Enhancement Suite... I'm known as "that one guy who said the Nexus would come out 11/18 and it didn't" LOL

Speaking of....have we heard an update on Steven's wife did I miss that?

How is she Steven? Lifting her up!

As someone mentioned earlier it makes sense why Verizon would remove the Nexus from the info guide. If they couldn't ring it up they wouldn't have stores selling it before launch day.

Very very good point. I like this point a lot, actually.

So after talking to my rep at the corporate store and the guy who has sold me 2 phones early in the past at an authorized retailer I kind of gave up today..

But.. with all of the talk of people still getting info I called the other authorized retailer who has a rep I visited on Sunday and luckily he was there. (AZ time, they close at 9 so I just caught him)

He said I can either come in Friday or come in tomorrow and he will pre-order it through VZW and it will ship to the store.. Now how in the heck would he know that for sure if he called customer service for me, tomorrow, that I could get it done. Seems like VZW, with all of their cracking down on leaks and threatening people's jobs has gotten through but I just think its to much of a coincidence that..

1. Meeting in the morning at all corporate stores
2. Employees are taking Galaxy's home (that means they are getting familiar with the phone so they can show clients the features and is a regular practice)
3. Stores have stock
4. Stores have accessories
5. Rep's are telling people and hinting at Friday
6. We've heard the soft launch ideas (including the poster on reddit who claimed this long before our "delay" today and was the 1st time I heard the idea)
7. People are walking into corporate stores and letting customers see and hold the device

I could probably keep going but im just trying to go off of factual events and information people are posting. It really does seem like, with Verizon's silence and all the things pointing to an end of the week "silent" release that we just might be able to walk in on Friday and buy it without a big press release or anything. Or maybe the morning of we see an official announcement on the site but people were even saying a couple weeks ago that there would be no preorder and no advertising really.

It looks like Verizon is doing just what they wanted to accomplish and have a "soft launch". Just my 2 cents and really trying to put together all the information I have gathered from this thread and other sites throughout the past couple weeks.
