***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

Pseudo-offtopic...
I found out that certain verizon employees get new phones every 3 months. If I didnt have to deal with people like myself calling to ask about the Nexus every few minutes, it might be worth it ;)

Good times who wants some ice cream sandwich?????

Call me crazy, but even as smooth as ICS is (don't get me wrong, it's crazy smooth), the thing that jumped out at me about the Nexus was how GORGEOUS the screen is. I was expecting it to be awesome based on older SAMOLEDs but it still blew me away. I thought an HD picture had been overlaid on the device and it was a non-functioning unit, it was that clear.

Here's an update for those of you (like me) that have 12/28 upgrade dates...

I may be the one that jinxed the 12/9 release date. I didn't see any reason to start pushing for an early upgrade until it looked like we had a firm date for release, since it wouldn't do any good until I had a phone to buy! Since I'm out of the country on business right now I decided to try the email link on Verizon's contact page. I sent them an email noting that I had a 12/28 upgrade date but that I'd really like to get a new phone for Christmas and lock myself into another 2 year contract with their fine company. I received both an email reply and a call back (although I couldn't receive the call). Here's the reply:

My name is ****** and I hope your having a great week! Thank you for taking time out of your day to contact me regarding your options to upgrade early. I understand how exciting it can be to get a new device and I will be more than happy to assist you. We are certainly able to honor an early upgrade for your line ending in #### as you are within 30 days of your eligibility date; however, this offer excludes your $30.00 "New Every Two" credit as well as our "iconic" devices such as the Apple iPhone 4S and Motorola DROID RAZR

So as long as Verizon doesn't suddenly declared the GNEX "iconic" then I should be good to go. Anyone else in the same condition may want to give this a try.

wonderful, although part of me was hoping you were holding out on us ;)

no if you haven't seen my posts from earlier ill have some time with a nexus tomorrow because i have a friend in high places at my local vzw store who has demo and unites in stock in the store

Lucky you! CM dropped support for og Droid so I can't even get a taste of that Ice Cream Sandwich :( All I can do is wait patiently for the Galaxy Nexus...

Friday anyone? :D

yeah it would never happen it would be so god awe full slow you would cut your eyes out i can say now that with out full hardware acceleration on my inc2 it can be painfully slow at some times even when the processor is overclocked to 1.5 GHz

Hate to say, but I think the iconic status has already been decided on, in the affirmative. I do not have the link, but it has been posted many times and I am sure someone else has it.
