I used to be a hardcore console gamer back in the day. Still own my NES/SNES. I'm mostly an RPG type of guy, but played my fair share of shooters as well. I even play the MS-Dos version of Wolfenstein 3-d to feel nostalgic, as well as the windows version of Doom(Nightmare Mode of course) But as of recently I've changed over to PC because all the good RPG's are being release on PC, instead of consoles.

Just got back from playing with my nexi! ( Verizon Reseller) I kept asking the rep to make sure I wouldn't get anyone in trouble... he said not a problem. Gave me a fix to make it through the home stretch.
Its nice! The screen is BEAUTIFUL and so responsive. I agree with comments about the volume being a little on the weak side ( compared to my DX) and the autofocus being a little slow on the camera. I think the camera issue is just going to take some practice. Video was Wonderful. The rep really got a kick out of it when I took out my distronic TPU case and tried it on... " I don't know why I should be surprised... You know more about this phone and the release issues than I do!" he said.... I just smiled and said, "I'll email you when it finally is up for sale"

Why does everyone think diamonds are the best? Sorry off topic. Lol. I'd rather have a unique piece of jewelry than a diamond. One picked for just me.

BabyBlues, you are my new hero. You couldn't pay me to accept a piece of diamond jewelry, let alone spend money on it. I've always said if any man came to me with a diamond engagement ring I'd walk away right then and there because he obviously can't listen. Shopping for an engagement ring that isn't a diamond they look at you like you're a leper.

You keep saying that, BB. Stop the talk, head to other BB (Best Buy) get an XBOX360 and a few games...profit. Many, many other things you can do with the Xbox360 than just game too. It is a wonderful device. You will not regret it.

Just returned from a trip to my local Best Buy, nothing new, but I did fondle a dummy version of the phone at least... does that mean I'm cheating?
Sad that handling just a dummy version of the phone (for the first time) and getting a feel for the phone up against my OG Droid will likely hold me over another 6 days...sigh...
On a side note, the impression I got from the rep is that it will be soon,just waiting on the go ahead from Verizon (like I said, nothing new), and I put myself on the to call list... fingers crossed it happens this weekend, hoping for the 15th... expecting... don't even want to go there anymore...

I think so. Unless OTD found out where s/he lives and flew there, had a snack, and took the Nexus.

im curious if they ever recieved the update prompt. sammax said he got his immediately after he cut it on, but the anon said they didnt. wonder if it eventually came, because i remember reading on one of the leaked documents that it would prompt an update within 2 hours of activation

Ah the joy of older cars. No need to deal with the damn ECU when it comes to tuning. I mean I like some of the modern JDM imports like the Evo and the 22b, but sometimes those ECU's can be so fickle, even when you add the smallest mod. I was just too excited about the fact that I was going to get it that taking pictures didn't really cross my mind. I would gladly be posting some right now if I had the phone though.
I hear you. That is a syndrome in my business often occurs with new or fresh recruits.
I got really, really involved with Final Fantasy 7. I now steer clear of RPGs...I cannot afford to sacrifice that much of my time to a game...lol

It's not in the funds right now. GNex is already saved for. Christmas is damn expensive. But I'm pretty sure I'm getting a new tv from my parents so it would be nice to have a pretty screen. My other problem is I haven't played anything since Nintendo, Mario Brothers

Same here. The PS3 is mostly used as a bluray player, the 360 mostly to watch netflix these days. Companies are definitely getting lazy with the coding.. much easier to use the tools provided by Sony and Microsoft than to make your own. Plus, sadly enough, they will make more money on consoles than PC sales.. if for no other reason they don't have to deal with the diverse hardware in the PC world.
Still, I've never had a gaming experience on a console that can truly compare to some of the ones I've had on my PC - even using my hd tv and surround sound system for the console. Like Skyrim looks pretty on the console.. it's absolutely stunning on PC - especially once you get a few of the mods to improve the textures and such. I've spent time on some mountains just admiring the view with the Aurora Borealis in the night sky, a dragon flying around over a distant forest in the valley below and my housecarl Lydia telling me she was sworn to carry my burdens
