I'm sorry but this made my day I almost fell out of my chair! I hope you have some luck at least getting to play with a demo some time before the launch it is nice!

Their early stuff was amazing, and while the last ten years may have been hit or miss, I actually really liked Death Magnetic. It actually sounded like them.
 
BTW, just got off the phone with a rep. Was asking about if I could temporarily activate a flip phone and retain unlimited data..blah blah. Anyway, at the end I asked about our precious, and he blamed it on samsung, saying they were waiting on the manufacturer.

I just wish companies would be somewhat honest with us. Steven's source clearly said the phone was delayed for "corporate strategy" reasons. AKA there is nothing wrong with the phone.

And while Verizon has told us all along by the end of the year they are still responsible for the leaks within the company like it or not. Yes they are leaks, yes I take them with a grain of salt, but they are still Verizon's responsibility. The corporate image of the company whether caused by Verizon or not is all Verizon's responsibility.

While we have some down time, I've recently been wondering the best way to respond to a situation like this. So many times I've been told "Trust me, and iPhone is just so much better than a Droid, you should get an iPhone..." "blah, blah,..." So, I either have to "go off" on them and risk coming off dorky, pretentious, or just a jerky fanboy (not saying you were being jerky Steven, but you know what I mean), or I just have to sit there and take it. I've tried to come up with the proper way to show them they're wrong without "hitting them with a ton of bricks", but I haven't found it yet. I mean some of these people are close friends and family!
 
I made it out to three stores after work, none admitted having stock or demos. The VZW authorized reseller (Arnold, MD) said it was supposed to be Friday and was delayed with no new date given - "can I show you anything else..?" The Radio Shack (Severna Park, MD) guy had to look it up, but said he thought it would be available after the weekend and took my name and number. The Best Buy (Inner Harbor, Baltimore) clerk said next week. I'll try a couple more on the eastern shore, tomorrow.

I know this is the same experience a bunch of other folks had, but after nearly 75k posts, whats it hurt?

I was hoping to at least see it...

I usually tell them that they are for two different user types. The ones who want to lead and the ones who want to follow. I've only been threatened once after saying that. Lol.

You should know that it is never verizon's fault they always pass the blame to someone else.

I wanted to ask him "how could you be waiting on the manufacturer when the hardware is obviously finalized, or you wouldn't have phones being activated?" but I refrained.

The longer this goes, the more I despise Verizon's handling.

You don't have to hit them "with a ton of bricks" and you don't have to show them "they're wrong" either. Strokes. Folks. Come on, we know the deal here.

Best you can do, and the best I've been able to avoid a flame war is by saying the following:

"Well for me, I prefer being able to___" and then list the litany of Android features and benefits that you are proud of and make great use of.

I still recommend the iPhone to some folks that ask me what I would suggest. Face it, for some people the iPhone is all the smartphone they will ever or could ever use. Don't get me wrong-- I push Android far more than I do the fruit :D

I agree actually. Death Magnetic has a lot of really good songs on it. I just HATED St Anger, and this new album with Lou Reed is also awful, but not really Metallica.

No way. If it didn't have Nexus in there I would have almost zero desire for it above things like the ReZound. Having the Google experience and updates straight from them is almost the number 1 selling point.

I suspect they are going to wait until after christmas to release this puppy because:

#1 Phones are a nice gift so they can push the D'roid*
#2 People are going to want to give phones as gifts see #1
#3 People who want the best phone available before christmas will be forced to get the D'roid* See #1
#4 after christmas everyone will be broke due to the holidays and thus will push the sales of the Nexus down even more



*Not a typo, Im sure you can figure out what I was trying to say here, make your own joke :)

I recommended a fruit phone to one of my friends. For her it was honestly easier since she had used iOS before and is, admittedly, not the quickest to pick up on new technology most of the time. She is ecstatic and thanks me for being honest even though she knows it physically pained me to send her away from Android. Lol

Agree verizon really handled this poorly. Hopefully maybe they learn from it for next time.
