I'm interested in knowing how most of you refresh and stay on the thread here. Sometimes I use my laptop but most of the time I use my iPad 2. It's usually in my lap.

iPad 2 3G, it is with me at all times. If I am at a red light I am trying to catch up on this thread. Picking up kids from school, out shopping, you name it. I even make my wife drive when I refresh and see I am 30 pages behind.

A serious intervention is needed, I have tentatively re-scheduled it for the 15th.

I remember BestBuy received that letter of confidentiality procured into it, if I managed to snag me a Nexus from a BestBuy retail store where I know the employees are least likely to read anything they receive. Do they get fired for selling me it?

Or would it not ring in the system at all since that notice was passed around they probably took it off right?

Okay crazy people, I'm outta here for the night.
I'm going out to the local Irish Pub, and meeting up with my handsome husband.
I love dates with my husband (he's fond of calling me his bride, and always orders my drinks).
:D

Get some sleep all...you'll need it for storming the castles tomorrow!

I am done as well. Later.......

What's you definition of overcharge? Mine is quite simple, charging more than the MSRP of an item. If any company tries to sell an time for more the MSRP, that's called price gouging and it's illegal under most circumstances. Doesn't apply to person to person sales, but does for companies who resell items.

So back to your original question. Is Verizon overcharging? Actually, for subsidized purchases, they are under charging for the hardware, so they can make it up with contracted service.

I have a hard time swallowing the "big evil companies overcharge us" line.

If a Verizon store opened up, and said, we only have a few Galaxy Nexus phones, so who wants to pay the most, then I'd be just as critical of them. But you don't see them doing that.

I also understand that the cost of an item isn't the sole cost of it's components that iSupply reports. There's labor to put it together, purchasers to arrange all the components, engineers to design, quality to test, and a legion of finance and exective positions that keeps the company together. So I don't think most things are "over charged".

I guess the flaw in your argument is that the MSRP of any item is rarely a fair price. The manufacturer's suggested price is just that. It not only depends on the cost they put into it, but also the profits they think they can get out of it. It is in their interest to sell at the highest markup. So "fair" by corporate standards, yes. But by no means is it fair for both parties or to be used as an absolute indicator of fairness.

As for Verizon undercharging for the hardware. That may be true, but as you stated they make up for it by their carrier charges, which are grossly overinflated.

I ordered 2 Zagg screen protectors, but I have been hearing a lot about the orange peel effect and the tackiness of them. I have heard about the Xo skins screen protectors and they sound pretty good. Anyone recommend I buy the Xo skins screen protectors and sell the Zagg ones?

If you want to bail out and get an iPhone, Read this:

the time to bail would have been black friday weekend when the rezound was $50 at costco....we've gone too far now. besides I wouldn't leave verizon. they always sucked you know what at phones but they've always been good at the network.

I don't even CARE about the ISIS/Wallet thing... I have AMEX so it doesn't even matter for me...

I don't care either..but some of the bloggers & news sites have gone crazy that google wallet won't be included. IT annoys the shit out of me .... give us the damn phone **** the wallet.

I didn't like the zagg protectors I've used. They have a rubbery feel to me and you can leave an impression in them with your fingernail that will fade away as they have kind of a "memory".

I would not recommend them.
