Wow, theres only one thing dumber then Verizon CSR's........ the techs that Barnes and Nobles uses.. I updated my wifes Nook Color today and netflix isnt there.. WTF. Read this ;)

Here's what I said once they asked what they could do for me, I plan it all out before I call.

"I'm calling about the $100 promotion that is available when you upgrade from a 3G to a 4G phone, my friend got a post card in the mail with the information and the code CH4NGE on it, I didn't get one and would like to see if I'm eligible since I'm upgrading to the Galaxy Nexus once it comes out."

She checked the code and said she could give me the discount. I know it sounds stupid but being nice and polite on the phone can really help a lot when it comes to these things. ;)


But what do you do when the CSR has nothing come up in the system with CH4NGE? You could only say okay, thank you politely in disappointment :(

Called *611, and on my third try, I got a CSR that could look up the promo and add it to my account. (Atlanta, GA)

I'm in charleston as well, well, goose creek but I'll be getting my Nexus at the corporate store by Tanger Malls. Good luck.

Oh cool, actually I technically live in goose creek as well.. charleston just registers better with people lol.. why tanger? I was going to grab mine either from the corp store in west ashley or rivers.
 
My day today..
So on Dec 9th when we all thought the phone was coming out I was trying to get in touch with every retailer in NJ trying to get my hands on the thing first. A few radio shacks and local stores took down my phone number and name if they get "more information" soon. Anyway, I didn't expect nothing of it, and today afternoon I get a call from a Radio Shack about 40 minutes away saying they just got one in stock and if I wanted to come pick it up. Knowing very well that this was probably not going to work out- I made it clear to the manager asking him if he was 100% sure he could sell it. He seemed completely oblivious to the fact that a notification from verizon had been sent out to not sell the phone.

So, I get into the Radio Shack (after a 40 min drive), I walk in and tell the manager Im the guy who called in about a week ago for the Nexus. He says sure hold on- grabs the sexy white box and there I am about to tear in geek joy. As he's asking for my ID, credit card, etc..He goes to me wait hold on we have a problem here..immediatly I think that he realized he couldn't sell it to me because the SKU/ESN was not going through.

But that was far from the case- I realized my brother has not paid the previous balance for our phone bill (we split the bill each month) and they would not let us get the upgrade without paying!!!!! So I plead to him that we have an extremely clean and long history with Verizon, and he calls his boss to see what he can do. The boss immediately says "Are you f*cking serious!? DO NOT sell that phone, check the latest email from the district manager. He then explains to me that he was not aware blah blah...

If my brother would have paid the bill I WOULD HAVE BEEN THIS CLOSE!!!!!! ----> ME[ ]SGN :mad:
 
Is there anyone who was able to snag that $100 promotion onto their account in NJ or NYC? If so, do you think you can share what you said to help them look up the promo.
