I am curious, bhype, what did you do to fix this issue if anything at all?

Anyone who doesn't DEMAND a 100% defect free product is a FOOL.
what planet are you from? Name me one single product that is 100% defect free. My phone has lots of nit noid issues. The battery level indicator if flakey, my hotspot app icon seems to randomly appear and disappear. Occasionally apps crash for no apparent reason. None of these substantially impact the phones operation or annoy me to the point of wanting a refund. Every high tech gadget I've ever owned has some sort of minor flaw to it. I tried a Bionic before I bought the skyrocket and it had a terrible LTE/3G radio issue they just seem to be getting around to addressing. I couldn't stand that one so I returned the phone. Butim not going to call people who seemed to be able to tolerate that flaw "fools".

Also if you are not 100% satisfied with your phone you should never just deal with it, at least make a call and see if they can do something for you. Competition between cell phone services should never be taken for granted. They will do a lot to keep a customer, it takes some time on the phone but you can usually get what you want if you are persistent enough.

. Its barely noticeable and I bet if I wasnt on this forum to read about these lines I would have never taken note of them...ever.
Get over it. sure its a flaw but its barely noticeable. sheeshh
Neither did anyone else. This may sound crazy, but my phone was having this issue. I don't think as bad as what is pictured above however today while I was at work I was messing with some settings and I was messing with brightness (which I know has been mentioned before) and as I toggled auto brightness on and off all of a sudden my screen fixed it self. I no longer have any lines or textures. This may be unique to my phone but just thought I would share with those of you who are still having trouble. It is set on auto brightness and it comes in great. Hopefully it stays this away. I still have three weeks to bring it back, so I have some time to spare if it is just a fluke.

The issue varies from phone to phone, so there is no way for you to tell how someone's phone looks. In my case the severity of the lines differed across all 5 phones.
Case in point..your thread on a "design flaw" that is merely a design difference

I didn't pop in there and tell you to deal with itNeither did anyone else.
haha
No issues here. Are you dealing with a defective unit? (As noted in two other threads)
What exactly is your issue with the screen? The rezound nitro and vivid have nice screens yes...but less detail and are not as bright.
I have not tested side by side with the nexus as it just released today. ...is on another carrier... and is a phone I have no interest in (lack of SD slot)

Thanks Mr. Ed, I just wanted to see what people are saying about the Skyrocket screen.
I had 3 S2's with defective screens that I've mentioned before (Blobs, lines, bad discoloring) So I'm really hesitant about getting another S2. From what I've seen, the discoloration isn't as bad (with the Amoled screens) on higher resolution devices.
It's been 5 months that I'm without a device now, and I'm getting impatient. I've been studying java for app development, so I want a device that's going to last long hardware wise (Skyrocket is fine here) but I also want a device that has a sharp screen.
So I'm a bit stumped.
Also, sorry for mentioning this on multiple occasions, I'd just like to see if anything has changed from the original S2 to the Skyrocket. Some people say that their device has no noticeable flaws, but all of mine did. And I'm not talking about staring at a gray screen either. I could see the defects on pictures.
I hear ya. I did not get a good screen until my 4th and 5th device (wife wanted one too)
In testing against the nitro the colors on the nitro were bland and fine detail was missing (strands of hair vs hair)
I had other issues with the nitro too tho
If you know me...you know I go through devices pretty often (8 or so in the last 6 months)
The skyrocket is definitely a keeper
