Google Wallet - No Root Needed :)

All you have to do is side load the apk I have it on my stock 4.0.2 Gnex right now with the $10 prepaid card and everything

Now if only someone could explain to me exactly how this works so I don't make an idiot out of myself at Wawa lol


EDIT: Some people have been saying this is a "modded apk" throughout the thread.. obviously you install this at your own risk but just for some clarification

The standard Google APK works on ICL53F / 4.0.2

Just tested this ; NO FC's - No errors on provisioning card, etc.

This was pulled off by another user, I MD5'd it to the version I got from a Sprint Nexus S

NOTE: I installed this on ICL53F CLEAN install with NO older Wallet ever present. I did NOT wipe or do anything else. So as long as Wallet was NEVER installed on your /system partition or you didn't replaced NFC files this should just work out of the box. If you ever did any of the above get a clean ICL53F installed FIRST (root or no root, doesn't matter) [mine was rooted but a friend got it working no root]

GSM Galaxy Nexus has Google Wallet.
Verizon Galaxy Nexus does not. You have to root to get it on your GN. Never tried ^this guys method

No Nexus other than the Sprint Nexus S has Google Wallet available through the Android Market. I have both the GSM and the LTE Galaxy Nexus.
 
I tried to add more than the $10 it gave me for activating it. When I went to add $100 it took it from my bank then it refunded it immediately. I wouldn't add.

Tried the above apk and loads fine on VZW GNex. Have not paid with it yet, definitely loads fine on phone. does not need root.

i knew that, but i thought that the GSM version had it, guess im wrong.
all i know is that i had to root to get Google Wallet on my Verizon GN
 
I was able to install easily. Have $10 preloaded. I will try and get gas for my bike tomorrow to test it.
 
just added $20 to my prepaid card after loading the app from above link. paid with credit card. (used a virtual number just in case)
seems like it went through fine. got a receipt via email and balance was updated on the app.

How do you use a virtual number? I used my debit card from my bank and was hesitant to do it.
 
The app installed fine for me but its been trying to activate the Google prepaid card for 5 minutes now... is that normal? I'm on a working Wifi connection.

Edit: Restarted my phone and the activate complete.

This app is really laggy for me; does anyone else notice that?
 
I just successfully added $100 to my card. I like the offers tab. Plan on using some of them this week prior to Christmas.
