Root May have bricked my Evo! PLEASE HELP!

try the bootloader one, when you go into it, does it give you the option to go into recovery?

have you ever reflashed your rom? Now that you have wiped, you will have to do that.

well, let's try it again. go into recovery then to the flash zip menu. find your rom and flash it again.

let it reboot fully by itself, it takes a while, be patient.

That should put you back at the screen where you set up the phone again, only hopefully, it will work this time

I flashed the rom again. It says install from sdcard complete. You said let it reboot fully by itself, do you mean just don't do anything now and it will, on its own, reboot? It gives me the options return, choose zip and toggle signature. Should I hit return then reboot?

yes. tell it to reboot.

there is a possibility that you got a bad dl of the rom, as well.

also, no one mentioned it, but that file you dl'd and renamed. you should delete that one so boot loader doesn't see it ad try to update every time.

Yes as then hit return and then reboot.

The first boot is going to take a while.

Dont pull the battery.

If that still doesnt work, add in the superwipe fileto the flashing procedure that i linked above.

That is what i am thinking.

hate to say this, but dl it again, then I would do all the wiping again, just to be safe, use the super wipe too, you use it by selecting it from the flash menu.

Then use the flash zip menu to flash the rom. reboot it and it should be fine.

I'm thinking I may have just gotten a bad download of the rom because it just keeps taking me back to that screen.

I just did a superwipe again and flashed the rom again with the same result. :(

Sounds right to me. Something isnt going right in the flash process

Welcome to Flash-A-Holics annonymous!! :D

You got the bath by fire education today, but now you know how to fix just about 90% of the problems you'll face. ;)

Always make a nandroid backup before you modify anything in recovery, it'll save your butt!

NICE. i just want to thank everyone who helped this soon to be (if not already:D) flashaholic. i'm glad that it worked out for you.

just an fyi, from the title of your thread, your phone is not bricked if you still have either a custom recovery and the bootloader. if you have those two then there will always be a way to troubleshoot your phone and getting it back up and running. there maybe a few exceptions to that rule (which we will not discuss now) as always.

now go and get your flash on:D

Yeah I'm definitely about to become a flashaholic! Customizing technology and tweaking settings and making my phone all shiny and spiffy is more addictive than crack for me. I'm going to have to limit myself. Like, one new ROM per week. Launchers were my gateway drug.
Gave thanks just for the laugh. I have $20 that says you will virtually never be able to stay on the same rom for a full week. I rarely do, and I think most here would say the same.

I'm already doubting my ability to stick to one ROM per week. I just downloaded 4 for when I want to change it up and I'm about ready to flash one now. And it hasn't even been a full day.

:D

Try out Tommy's Classic.

Just remember to have at least 1 working nandroid on your SD card in case something goes wrong.

LOL. Told ya so!

I like being able to try something that makes my phone feel brand new whenever I want. I just downloaded the MikG 3.0 stable. I will probably get around to flashing it sometime this week, but Deck's gingerbread 1.3 build with Tiamat 3.3.7 is honestly my own personal sweet spot.
