Root What Icon is this in the Notification Bar??

Hi there...

Posting for a friend running the MikG 2.60 or 2.61 ROM (forgot which one). Not sure if this icon is associated with the ROM but posting in the "rooted" section just in case. It may very well be a non-MikG/non-root setting associated with some application but we can't figure out what it is or how to control it. It seems to have spontaneously "appeared" this afternoon.

Anyone know what the icon is to the left of the wifi icon?? Looks like a head-set type earpiece/full-ear type of headset with "sound waves" emanating out to the right. Perhaps some sort of voice recognition service or app or something??

Icons are listed on pages 19-20 of the EVO manual, but the icon in the above posting does not appear to be there. :mad:
 
I think that is the icon that shows when the hearing impaired option is turned on. I remember a similar post about this a long time ago for the Sprint HTC Hero.

Basically, that option just increases the upper end of the volume range for the earpiece. It helps people who wear hearing aids hear better when on phone calls.
 
It's a stock setting... I use it all the time cause I was a machine gunner in the Marine Corps and I never wore ear protection. All it does is boost in call volume.
