I have attempted to root, and found nothing but trouble. I had to reset to factory setting's, thankfully my contacts didn't get erased. I am satisfied at this time with my Droid being non rooted, and I will wait in the desert for 2.1 and flash, and all the other goodies to come along. In conclusion, I have to say it was a lesson I'll never forget.

finally jumped on bandwagon and rooted with sholes cuz it was just too easy. also overclocked to 1.2ghz.
 
Zero votes for unroot/back to stock.
That should say something to the "should I root" people.
No one is regretting it.
 
Rooted, it is considerably more awesome than I thought it would be for the following reasons:
Overclock
HQ youtube
Ad-free
Live wallpapers
Metamorph
Lower brightness
No more stock apps

Oh, sorry. You didn't want to know why, I can't help myself sometimes. :)

I too have rooted my phone and enjoy a lot of the bennies of being root. I just don't want to start a debate on rooting or not. It is a personal choice that isn't for everyone.
