Root Sign of bigger problem?

Twice in the last week or so I've had to do a battery pull. Once when flashing a new rom, it got stuck at the boot animation screen, and now a second time when I was sort of flashing again (reflashing the same rom over top to restore some default settings) it froze up at the HTC screen.
Since I've never had to pull the battery before, is this a warning sign of something going on - not sure what - corrupt SD card... or... a bad rom... or something else I'm not thinking of?

I dont think so, i could be wrong though
this usually isnt a trait of a hardware issue relating to device or sdcard as if you wipe and start again i would imagine it works????

something else, possibly to do with the rom itself. not all roms like being flashed on top of even if its the same rom you are re-flashing as there is stuff in data that it might not like.

also why were you reflashing the same rom the second time ?

After much fiddling with Gingervillian I couldnt get things back to the way they were to start with. ie: I tried one of the OTA battery mods, but it changed other things throughout the rom too. I had also 'lost' the green LED for notifications - it would only flash orange (unless it was plugged in to charge and a notification came in -- then it would intermittently show the green led).
Sooo... I thought if I reflashed the same rom over top, it would restore the default settings.

hmm it should have been ok, depends if there was anything in data/dalvic it didnt like
if you had wiped dalvic cache it might have been ok

OK - will remember that for next time. Thx.
But the freezing up / battery pull isn't anything to be concerned about?

well both of them were caused by you doing something to the phone which involved some modification. personally i believe its down to those changes of which you had to reflash to try and fix it.

if it only does it when you are doing modifications then i can only conclude that its whatever mods /changes you are doing. that is causing it

You are absolutely right. Just thought I'd mention what to watch for, on the off chance that it's something else.
