Root Best ROM for longest battery life?

CuBz

In your opinion and experience only, what would you say is the best ROM for the longest battery life?

I used CM7 and the battery life is pretty good, but then tried ARHD which did seem to last longer, but I'm looking to see if there's any that may last longer. Might be a long shot.

Also, what can I do (tweaks etc) to improve battery life? I use wifi and gps alot so they do need to stay on constantly.

Thanks

I'm using Absolution at the moment and battery life is superb, but that being said, I'm undervolted and not overclocked at all.

As far as I'm aware, ARHD is overclocked by default, although not by much. There's a script you can flash to return it to stock speed, that might improve things.

I've been using Roms for the best part of 2 years, I seem to know almost everything about them and what needs to be done, but I've never had a clue how overclocking/undervolting is done lol

If you use LordMods AOSP kernel, you can flash an app that does the undervolting for you. As a lot of the AOSP ROMs are based on CM7, they have overclock settings built in.

ARHD has a script you can flash which removes the OC, but you could also do it with SetCPU I suppose, but that messes with his OC daemon. It comes with an app which allows you to control that too: xda-developers - View Single Post - [ROM] Android Revolution HD

Thanks.

I've been using ARHD for the past 2 days now and without any tweaking I have brilliant battery life, so I'm happy to leave it as it is.

The battery life on ICS is amazing, most noticeably when using things like FB or Spotify it doesn't drain like mad after using it for 5 minutes. Using Spotify on a 3G connection for 20 minutes and I only lost 2% battery. Comparing it to any other ROM where I would sometimes lose 10% doing the same thing. I'm currently getting about 13 hours on battery during the day and going to bed with 60-65% left

ROM is Virtuous Quattro RC3

Trying to locate a barebones NAND of a current ICS build preferably Lord Clockans but Quattro would be good. If you happen to flash either again from scratch would you do one and send me it? Its either that or waiting for the thread I linked to on my BM thread to update. lol

What kernel are you using for this, CDPlant? I'm about to give it a go, but I can't find an already-compiled recommended kernel.

I'm using the default kernel (MDJ ICS V5) which is working well. On the last release candidate I was using the Lordmod kernel and it was a bit buggy compared to the default one.

I can vouch for Virtuous Quattro and the fact the default kernel works best as things stand. I will also state that the UI and the way it operates only serves to make all its forebears look clumsy and childlike. So clean, crisp, smooth and intuitive and 21st Century. Definitely worth a look. However I'm going to have to wait for the NAND backup from your good self CD as using the install zip from sd method in Boot Manager works (as in it boots the ROM) there is an issue with linking to the radio and the baseband field isnt populated so I can use it for anything but a phone and internet device lol

Suggestion for best rom with this features:
Is important to be the best in:
- Camera quality
- Speed and performance
- Hardware compatibility: Sensors, Wifi, BT,...
- Battery life

Not important:
- Graphical interface
