I think this may factor into at least Verizon's plan of action in announcing the Incredible. The short term confidentiality on pics and user manual for the VZW N1 is April 30th. It will be interesting to see how VZW goes about announcing the N1 and Incredible and how much control they have over delaying the N1 launch until after the Incredible.

I bet google already has this in stock. Most confidentiality dates are 4 to 6 months. I wish somebody could search google inventory.
 
Does anyone know if Verizon or Google has a press conference at CTIA? Do they mention a date and or time? I am thinking that if they do have a conference the N1 will be available that day for order from Google kind of like how they announced it for T-Mobile, you could order it before the conference was even over.

I did not want to be responsible for ruining someone's career, so I removed it. I didn't have to, but I did for her sake. Most everyone who would be interested in the video has seen it anyway.

Btw, she gave a little hint however in her email to me that confidentiality agreements between HTC and VZW were in jeopardy because of this video. :eek:

The person who took the screen shot of the inventory at VZW should be the one in hot water. That is what started the process of searching for the ADR6300. I would think now if that tester from HTC gets fired there will be a lot of backlash for VZW. I think what you did was great by taking it down.

I beleive that this is the ramp/launch period and CTIA on 3/23 is going to be the launch date. I've heard NUMEROUS times from NUMEROUS psources that 3/23 is the launch date for the N1 and/or Incredible.

It just seems to line up.

What i still can't wrap my head around is why NOBODY has a demo unit. It just seems so unorthodox that Verizon will just announce this new phone(s) at some conference and *poof* they'll be on the shelf soon there after without ANY advertising until POST launch.

Is this normal from Verizon or any other carrier for that matter? Rather, does that SEEM normal for a phone of this potential magnitude? Or, are we so wrapped up in this thing that we're completely overanalyzing and overhyping this release that we arent seeing what the rest of the world sees?

I just dont know.. but guess what..

I am thinking the Incredible will be changed to Supersonic. Can't you picture swiping your finger over the screen and it changing in supersonic speed or when Maverick from Top Gun buzz the tower! How much buzz would you cause when you pull out your Supersonic?

I don't think doubling the RAM would cause too much trouble... the OS would support this by default, and the software wouldn't be hardcoded to use a specific size. It would be similar to adding memory to your PC... it just "works". I don't believe this would be too much different than that scenario. A few months would seem like way more than enough time to re-run their canned set of tests with increased memory. The memory controller, bus, software would all handle this automagically. :)
 
Release date question. How often do the confidentiality dates match the release date? I just read the FCC Shorterm Confidentiality request dates and the Nexus One ends April 30th. However the PB31200 (Incredible) says August 6th in bold.
 
This is my first post but I have been following these forums since December of last year. I purchased a motorola droid when it first came out. I had the phone for a couple of weeks and decided to see what else would be coming out in the near future. I decided to take the droid back and wait for something better. I loved android but the design of the motorola droid and the physical keyboard drove me nuts. I thought my blackberry 8330 would last until the incredible came out but it stopped working about a month ago. So now I'm back to my very first Verizon phone thats 6 years old.

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone in here that posts new info found on the htc incredible.

The nexus one model pb9100 had the confidentiality letter dated from 9/30/2009 with a request until 4/30/2010
 
Also, looking over the test report, it says the product was first received on January 8th, 2010, which would lead me suspect it will look exactly like the current nexus one, contrary to some people hoping the VZW version would have this and that.

Any change in the actual hardware of the phone would cause a delay.
Yes adding RAM should just "work". But just like in your computer more RAM adds heat as well. In your computer its not big deal as most cases are ATX or Mini_ATX sized. But in a handheld device it might make a major difference. I'm also assuming that phones do not have sticks of RAM that go into slots like a computer but rather they are somehow permanently connected. Hence adding more RAM means modifying the motherboard which certainly would require more testing.

They dont mean anything. Most likely a date further out from expected release is asked for (or perhaps there is a max time fram you're allowed) in case a launch is delayed. But phones are released before the requests runs out.

Remember that HTC upped the ram of the HD2 from 448MB to 572MB for the U.S. release. They have had time to do that but I don't think they would have done that if it meant scrapping a whole lot of parts they already had for it, like the motherboard. So, i'm thinking the ram is not permanently connected to the main board and if it is, it is only connected during production of the phone so they can use existing motherboard parts with large ram modules for U.S. production.

At any rate, like most people here I doubt the Incredible production version was ever seriously spec'd at 256MB. Maybe a few prototypes had that amount but I don't think there's reason to think HTC or VZW is scrambling to add more ram to their new device, it probably was always planned to have more ram than 256MB.

If you view some previous posts, one User was kind enough to take a screenshot of the video and you can clearly see the Optical tackpad and silver ring on the device. It is the HTC Incredible, the buttons are also a lot different, there is no ring around them like the HTC Supersonic has.

my bad. i just got home from a long day at the j.o.b and only glanced at it briefly. now that i look at it good it does look like a 3.7" screen

To my knowledge Verizon doesnt usually advertise a phone until it is avail. The Droid was something specail to them thats why they had commercials out before the phone it was there birth into the Android world. I think the Incredible will be announced at the show but not released right then and there. They will give some out to various tech sites so they can show them off for us tech savy people and make us drool more. Then it will be released. Now as for the Nexus one it was released the same day it was announced at there google conference so that could get released for VW and AT&T the day of there announcement but who knows
 
Just jumped on the forum, been lurking around and finished reading all 37 pages of Incredible posts and still have one question.

I know that everyone is saying that it is the Incredible in the video (and trust me I soooo hope it is), but did anyone notice the little white part of a graphic sticking out from under the sticker on the top right corner? I wish the video was still up so I could give a time mark, but the only thing I could think of when I saw that was the P in Sprint, since verizon has nothing in their branding that could stick out like that......just wondering....

News that the Nexus One is coming to Vodaphone in April........could that possibly mean that the Nexus One for Verizon Wireless is also coming in April?? possibly

I am 99 percent sure that what you are seeing is the charging LED. In the other leaked photo, this LED lines up exactly with that spot. Also it was not visible until light hit that led at the end. The image comparison Wonderbread shows this perfectly.

Spot on, thanks for the clarification, now I am completely convinced, looks like I will have to decide between the N1 and the Incredible, but the Incredible is leading the way
