Root lg esteem tethering

how many people use there 4g lte as thethering to there laptops and other devices??
cause i just did and the speed is almost as good as my home internet youtube vids and online movie streaming loaded pretty quick so how do you compare?

Edit: i just tested the 4glte with my P.S.3 infrastruture mode meaning i just freakin played MW3 for like 20 mins on metro 4G pretty awsome yoo seriously.. full bars on phone= no lag in game, Three bars on phone=little lag in game...dont know about the rest 4g lte in really good in my area

Never have a need to(4G is not all that in the house anyway)...just as fast though huh:confused: Sweet:D
 
ive tried it with my ps3 pretty good but after like ten minutes i get cut off and cant sign back on so house internet it is

yea cause like youtube vids loaded like 3 secs after the web pages loaded which took basically 2 secs and movies would start playing within 15-20 seconds(home internet is faster though) 4g is faster than i thought... was asking how do other compare??

how did you get to tether to your ps3 i thought ps3 used infrastructure wifi and not adhoc unless you tunnel the signal with your laptop etc...
 
i forgot the wifi tethering i was using but i got the wifi tethering beta off the internet then in the app it self you change the device to lg optimus m and then on my ps3 like your setting up wifi it finds the tethering i connect and it work ill find the download link and post it in here for you
 
there this one works best with our phone just remember go to setting and change the device profile name to lg optimus m
 
I have cable internet too Comcast in fact and there internet speeds is awesome I just posted what I was receiving that day.. and I didn't say my 4g was good as internet it seem to do thing quickly.. When it comes to the ps3 all you really need is a steady signal to play online which I have on my phone my 4g doesnt switch to 3g and I always have 3 to 4 bars

There is no way playing PS3 online over Metro's 4G is anywhere near as fast as Comcast cable. For one thing the latency over Metro is horrid compared to Comcast.
 
not sure if this has been posted but there has been an unknown mac address trying to access my phone's connection and I have filtered it out and since then have not had a problem with any cut offs.

edit: I'm pretty sure it's metro's mac address

yes that happen to me too i just restarted n added my password
 
Yep, I tether xbox live from time to time an get to enjoy hours of playing gears of war 3... its good enough for me, i use the app called "open garden" for rooted users only.
 
Curious to hear if Metro actively seeks people who are using "excess" data / are obviously using phone to tether. I have the wifitether program installed and have been using my esteem as a mobile connection for my ipad and it has been working brilliantly.
 
I use wireless tether for root users and it works great, i use it at work with my netbook, most of the time stuff loads faster on it than on the works wifi
