Root [ROM] Stock ZVC LG Esteem

is it verified that zvc is in fact faster on day to day operations compared to the zvb rom? and if so, does that mean that builds using a zvc base will be better optimized, compared to a rom based on zvb?

i actually have never used zvc because i just rooted with gingersteem almost right off the bat. so any insight from someone who has would be helpful :)

not really, only thing I noticed is LG/Metro patched root.

I'm upgrading to ZVC now, since my phone is on a reboot trip today  ... So I can test anything you got.

Once rooted, should be able to get CMW via ROM manager right? Or will the old CMW install still work?

Thank god,my phone has rebooted somewhere around 100 times since october ive been so patient waiting for this! How long before the link is up pg?...........this has made my day........... Wheres the donate link so i can by you a bottle of your favorite adult beverage!!!!!!

I thought I remember reading that zvc booted up faster than previous versions. But I dunno since I never tested zvc since I was able to root with zvb with no rebooting issues.

i just had zvc for a day or two and honestly i noticed nothing out of the ordinary... didn't seem faster, specially with all the bloatware added back on.. i dont think it had a faster boot time either... and i can confirm 100% that zvc did not fix anything with reboot issues except maybe prolonging the reboot ( which someone else had mentioned earlier, i forget who sorry!! lol) but my device rebooted as soon as i got a 4g signal, literally AS SOON as i got the signal lol

but i could be wrong... hard to compare the 2 side by side without 2 devices lol

Hey PG! I think your link is down bud. Stupid question but, Can we still use the recovery, after flashing this? (Sorry if I don't make sense right now, just going through some personal issues that has my brain fried! lol.) Thanks again PG! ;)

Note: I Just answered my own question. I updated to ZVC, was able to root successful and I was able to install the official CWM through Rom Manager with no problem, and install the Plague OC kernel. So, just wanted to say thanks again for everything!

This is just a rooted and deodexed stock ZVC ROM for use as a backup or base for a ROM or theme work.

Stock ZVC ROM

k link posted, but I have no sound once I flash it what so ever, lol. Looking into it tho.
i think the sound issue was a bin file before... not sure which one tho i never pin pointed it but im pretty sure it was in there lol

That's LG for ya...nice work.
oh sound worked b4 I cooked it a lil lol

Thinking its a permissions thing, if not not real sure wtf happened lol.

k found the issue while working on GSE-C, rerooting with AK breaks root n evidently sound too. lol

Got hose issues fix with GSE-C, so atm the stock one posted in the OP will need the AIP ran on again or just used for parts lol. Will fix n reupload when I get a chance.

update: found issue, it was with the updater script. it changed the symlink the new root method sets. Just had to edit the updater-script. Will upload n fix link in a bit. ;)

Hi, I am new to the forums and just a few days ago I was thinking to downgrade to the ZVB to be able to root, I currently have ZVC. Now that the ZVC version can be rooted, can anyone tell me if I will have problems with sound if I root my Esteem or do I need to wait until somebody fixes the root link?

Has anybody encounter any problems with the rooted ZVC version?

Thanks a lot for any responses.

Link fixed sorry about that.

@ldrifter, yea but I've not removed anything, just added root to system n boot n deodexed it. lol

well when i had experienced it, was on the stock zvb (odexed version)
so i did a system pull of my actual stock rom the phone came with (had root tho), then placed that bin folder into the Stock zvb rom and my sound worked, then i de-odexed it and did some minor tweaking then released ld-lg lol :D may be different with this issue tho, not sure..

my issues were due to the updater-script reversing the symlink for su from how djrbliss's root does it.

Themers n ROM Devs can just edit it or I will have a updated zip up in a bit.
