I just found it too. Check out this article title though

Apple Seeks to Block Imports of HTC Phones Into U.S. (Update1) - BusinessWeek

"Block imports of HTC phones" The article is pretty much the same as others, but this could delay the Incredible launch... Unless it is already here in the USA..

Not a chance this will delay imports. It may about a year down the road, but they cannot delay imports because of an accusation or filed lawsuit without a complete investigation into specific matters. All the Incredibles will already be sold by then.

I have to say this sounds logical. I can't see the n1/Incredible release being this far into the process being stopped or significantly delayed within mere weeks from its completion. I would be very disappointed.

UH Oh!

I know people are complaining about things off topic, and some things are way off topic, and I only want the Incredible, and I enjoy finding and listening about some of those things off topic ( like the Desire videos), and I know I used too many "and"'s,

But I think somethings that are necesary to be off topic about...like maybe this news about Apple suing HTC...

If I'm wrong about the whole off topic thing, I'll take the punishment I deserve, and....

**ck Apple

Regarding the Apple lawsuit:

The absurdity of this whole thing just makes me laugh and has finally put this quest into perspective. After a good 5 agonizing months of waiting for a kickin' HTC phone to arrive on Verizon...with the light finally showing up at the end of the tunnel...something like this comes along to potentially ruin the whole thing. It truly is the stuff that movies are made of.

That being said, I agree that there is very little chance that this could affect HTC imports in the near term.

I just found this link.

Makes me think Apple is just as bad and is scared about what HTC has.

yeah we have been seeing these articles pop up.. I agree. I think Apple is a little worried. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if Apple didn't release a phone this summer. Only an upgrade to their OS. I'd think they would want to release the next iPhone handset capable of LTE. Rumor is an LTE iPhone and most other LTE handsets won't be available until next year, because the LTE chips won't be mass produced to handset makers until then. That will anger iPhone users, combined with ATTs lack of network coverage, and people will be looking to bounce. Apple has to know some ballin' Android phones are coming out (possibly to ATT too, the desire).

However, Sprint is getting a 4g phone this summer (not LTE), but it is 4g and who is the most likely handset maker... HTC.. Go figure.. Steve Jobs is probably shittin' his panties.

Like I said last night, Any one notice an increase in Iphone commercials lately? Looks like something is coming that Apple doesn't like too much. I wish someone would leak something more.

From Engasget "Update 3: We've just learned that Apple submitted over 700 pages of exhibits to the District Court, which is a little nuts. In addition, the ITC complaints lists a number of specific HTC handsets as exhibits, including the Nexus One, Touch Pro, Touch Diamond, Touch Pro2, Tilt II, Pure, Imagio, Dream / G1, myTouch 3G, Hero, HD2, and Droid Eris. That's really a full range of HTC phones, running both Android and Windows Mobile, with and without Sense / TouchFLO. Interestingly, the Android sets are specifically included because they run Android, while the WinMo sets are called out specifically for including DSP chips, not anything to do with Windows Mobile."

Definetly targeting Android.

True, they just released a 3rd one last week or something. They are pretty much the same, with the same lame people, doing the same lame things. I think the iPhone is a good smartphone. I do. You don't sell that many handsets without doing something right. But I think the network it's on (in the US anyway) limits Apple sales and possible customers tremendously and I think it needs a big upgrade to stay in the game and really increase US sales.

Android is coming on fast and only getting better and better. Handset makers like HTC, Motorola, even a little LG and Nokia (not to mention new handset makers) now are coming on strong with some quality handsets. Impressive looking devices with some serious hardware packed under the battery cover.

The more articles I read on the Apple suit the more it seems like Apple is paranoid. Especially Jobs. His comments scream paranoia.

700 is nuts. Apple knows Spring is going to be a big time for handset launches. Spring/early Summer. Seems like they have been working on this for awhile. Most likely to disrupt Spring/Summer phone launches. The ITC is gonna be like "WTF? 700 pages . Can I get that in an e-book on my ipad?" ha.

That's why I'm happy Android is gaining more popularity. I like to have choices and competition breeds better products. I think Apple has gotten lazy and stopped innovating, at least that's why some of my friends who have Iphones have said to me. If HTC is creating handsets that are better than the Iphone, then Apple will really have to work to compete and stay fresh. Suing, in order to remain number 1, doesn't seem right to me.

I'm not worried about the delay in handsets. My question is, if the ITC finds merit to the claim and orders a temporary stop and desist against HTC and/or Google, what is the implication on OS updates down the road?

Not sure if this has been noticed yet, but I was looking through the original Incredible Leaked video and I found that the splash screen wasn't the only place where Verizon could be found....when he pulled down the message bar I froze the video.

I tried taking a snap shot of the app menu list and I couldn't spot car home like on the N1 and droid. I understand that europe currently doesn't have a version of car home for themselves, so it wouldn't be on the desire or legend, but shouldn't it be included in 2.1 for us? Do you think verizon cut that app in favor of their own crappy $10 a month vzw nav app?

Yet you said it yourself, its on the Droid. So they left it on the one they had a huge advertising campaign for but took it off the newer one coming out? Also when I had a Droid I don't remember VZ Navigator being under the Verizon category in the App Market.
It'll be there if not there already.

I hope Google stands behind HTC and says to Apple, "How much do you want to spend on this?" Tying it up in litigation and other court process for years, mean time HTC and Google keep coming out with more phones.
