Root [ROM] Froyocream Sandwich v2.0 released: 3/29

if you mean custom carrier names like cm7 reloaded, that wont be able to be added. but we are changing the carrier name to the roms name. (if that helps)

power control is on its way along with easier to read colors :)

the dimming soft lights? i didnt know they could dim... (please explain)

also, about the battery life. we are gonna try a few things to improve it.

If you can't do custom carrier then I'd rather you leave it the way it is, no offence. How about blank?

Dimming soft buttons like in cm7 or miui. They dim or brighten according to the surrounding brightness.

Is it possible to add copy/paste from Gingerbread? Thanks

would you like to see them lighter, or ics blue? :D or if you want to make a drawing of a new color scheme, go ahead. we will take any and all requests if possible.

Ooooo ics blue sounds pretty win to me!

Also, to the others that want the drop down power control:" quick settings" from the market would probably be best for that until its integrated into the rom. (Its not in the dropdown menu but ithas more o0tions than the stock power control lol) just a temporary suggestion...

Have been enjoying the Froyocream Sammy a lot! Happened to see talk of an update and went to check the current version number on my phone as I don't recall exactly which I had installed. Clicking "about phone" and scrolling to "software version" the rom is just listed as "Froyocream Sandwich!". Any chance future releases could list the version number here as well? It's a small thing, but it will help me be sure I'm staying up to date. Thanks again! Great work!

Sure that will be included

We are so fortunate to have developers working hard on this device and on this rom (and other roms) and also to have developers so eager to meet the requests of the community.. just wanted to say thanks. This makes the Triumph worth keeping.. knowing that even though Virgin won't update it, there will always be new things to look forward to and get excited about!

I followed the steps to install cmw and installed froyocream sandwich v1.3. I also installed gapps-gb-20110828-signed. It went well, but when i try and open the market and connect my account, i always get booted out to the home screen. any advice?

edit - also, should the background be black or should there be an image?

Do not flash gapps with this ROM.

ok everyone who uses this rom... do not flash gapps! lol

gapps is only for cm7,cm9, and miui.

the rom comes with gapps included :D

ahhh. i see it in the feature list now. minus5252 might want to edit the video he posted on the installation though - he says to install gapps after flashing the rom. it is about 5:20 in the vid. :)

I would follow the directions that are given in the first ROM post instead of following a 3rd party video. If the dev's do not make the video they have no control over it's accuracy. Thus you don't know for sure that it is correct. This isn't to detract from minus5252's videos (as they can be helpful), but apparently he wasn't entirely accurate in that one.

The fact that the video was linked in the second post means that they should have looked at it closer before providing it as a resource for users of their ROM.

Is there a way to delete or uninstall the free version of ics keyboard?

I've downloaded the donate version so I'd like free version gone. Thanks

Either into your app list and uninstall from there (if you can), if you can't delete it from /system/app with a root explorer (es file explorer which is free or root explorer which is a few bucks)

Deleting from /system and uninstalling from settings did the trick. Disappears from keyboards after reboot. Thanks Marc!

Is the a way to update the "browser" to the new version from Gingerbread?

I tried it and didn't work. Took the browser from cm7 rom and replaced the one in /system. Oh well. Still waiting impatiently for 1.4 :)

heres another suggestion i just thought of for when you guys get time:

in sms settings, would it be possible to add the options for sms split, character counter, and whatever puts (1/2) at the beginning of the message?

i noticed currently if you go over the 160 limit, it changes to an mms message and you have to have 3g on (i think) for it to send.

ive seen this in cm7 roms but i have no clue if its possible in froyo roms or not

Yeah its possible. I will consult with my library of knowledge and hopefully have that in the update :D

Great ROM guys. I have been using CM7 since alpha releases and now with the TG reloaded ROM its very buggy. This one is fully working, very smooth, and void of bloatware. Everything it should have been from the factory.

The only thing I would like to request (as I have seen in the thread already) is easier to read colors for the drop down menu.

GREAT WORK GUYS!!!!!!!!
