I left ATT a week or so ago, constant 4G everywhere with my Skyrocket, get the Nexus and I have awful service everywhere near Boston... extremely disappointing
Yeah ATT is looking pretty good these days.

I was told they have outages every time they expand their network.
It's working fine here in Cleveland.
It wasn't working downtown from a bit after 8 AM until early afternoon.
Having outages when they are working to expand is expected. Technology doesn't always work or go as planned. Some limited down time while they expand the network is understandable for me.
Its just the opposite in Atlantic City. 4G works fine, its the 3G that keeps cutting in and out; well, at least on my phone. I get the grey signal bars off and on today. When it happens, nothing I do makes it work. Just have to wait it out. Very annoying.
Seems like there expanding in my area today noticed 4g in multiple places. Having outages when they are working to expand is expected. Technology doesn't always work or go as planned. Some limited down time while they expand the network is understandable for me.
Wait... What?
I work in an environment where downtime could lead to a catastrophic monetary losses. When upgrades are done to production systems we make sure that all necessary fail-safes are in place to prevent problems.
You're saying whenever Verizon does some upgrading or expansion, it is acceptable to have downtime? This is not a small mom and pop shop we're talking about here, it's a billion dollar company with millions of customers.
This is, if I remember correctly, about the fifth time their network has faulted in the last 3 months. It is not considered limited downtime at this scale.
Unless I'm mistaken 3G still works when 4G is down.
I am going on day two with sporadic data on both 3G and 4G. But that doesn't even matter.. Down is down. I chose Verizon because of their 4G.
Using your previous example, if I have a production server having problems and I move the users and data onto a different server with fewer resources, the users can still do their jobs, just at a slower pace.
Therefore if 3G works when 4G is down, we still have data, just at slower speeds.
So you're going to ignore the fact that both 3G and 4G service is impacted as I stated in a previous post?
Anyways, lets get back to that example. If I have a production server that is experiencing problems, I do not move users to a server with fewer resources - I move them to a shadow environment with the same amount of resources so little to no impact is felt by the users. What I don't do is continue to upgrade the environment at the expense of the users.
Verizon is supposed to be the most reputable carrier - you can make up all the excuses you want for them, but I like to get what I pay a premium for.
I didn't ignore it, I said if 3G works when 4G is down.
Your sporadic 3G data issue may or may not be related to the outage.
Back to the example, I may not always have an equal resource environment to move to, it depends on how many lpars I currently have on that managed system and sometimes they will have to settle for what resources I have left. That is at least until I get active memory sharing or memory compression working.
Uhh.. We're talking about Verizon, right? You don't think they have the resources for redundancy?
