Orange Signal Boost UMA App

Just wondering if its possible to download the uma signal boost app from anywhere? Cant seem to find it in market place or on Orange site. Im using an unbranded S2 with an Orange sim. Can it be obtained on an unbranded phone or does it need to be Orange branded/firmware?

Afaik Orange are the only UK network providing a UMA service currently, and the GS2 is one of the very few handsets which supports the technology. As a result I think it's only found in the most recent (KG3?) firmware released to Orange handsets.

Still only available in the Orange firmwares afaik. I extracted it from the previous KG3 firmware and installed it on my own handset but it wouldn't run - there's obviously something else required other than just the APK itself.

Just to confirm you must have the latest orange branded firmware for this to work, i had to flash my wife's unbranded gs2 to the branded orange firmware due to no signal on orange in our house, lucky I'm on o2

If they send you an orange branded handset it will work, if they send you an unbranded handset it won't.

thanks matty the last two ive had from p4u have been unbranded so i guess they wont work

It might be worth contacting Orange CS and suggesting that it be made available from the Android Market. Tbh I'm surprised they haven't done so; their other apps are available so why not this?

i think there is something different within the phone, my friends orange phone with the app has a 'p' on the end of the model number..
maybe thats something to do with it?
