Root blackdroid removed for including wares

Personally I don't see paid apps as wares... I hear wares I think about malware, yes android is Linux based, however when you tell any Linux to give something su and let it always have it how long until someone creates a Droid killer app or ROM masked as something good?

For those of us who know how open source works and also understand Linux we know, however unlikely, it is possible to kill any Linux system in such a manner. Blackhat hacking is possible against droids.
 
You know the "z" is important right? Wares has nothing to do with Warez.
(and further Warez has nothing to do with malware, warez = pirated is all)
 
The real reason ultimate droid rom got removed was because pete was being a little b. Because he said blackdroid was copying off of him. Because someone said they liked blackdroid rom better then his rom. So he start being a b about it. Thats the real reason it got closed and there was on paid apps and his roms. If thats the case then he might as well said everyone else was copying off of him. People need to understand that andriod is open source and that its not going to be just one rom out there its going to be more roms out there. I'm just keeping it real.
 
i am getting bored with petes roms, i mean they are good, can't discredit them like that, but they have stopped doing much. they need a new look or something
 
So what app was he including? I noticed that the creator of SetCPU just posted yesterday saying how his app was a "paid app" and asked developers not to include it, even though it is free outside of the market. Is this why he was removed? If so that is a pretty lame reason. I never used his roms, but to be blacklisted for something like that, or due to other developers crying about him using the same stuff they do, is kinda weak.
 
HE DIDNT HAVE SETCPU ON HIS ROM ALL HE HAD WAS Spare Parts, Astro, MixZing, Pandora.
 
I still fail to see the reason he was completely removed. Maybe he made an honest mistake and left a paid app in the build. I can't imagine he refused when asked to remove it to keep his rom section on the forum. A lot of people seemed to like his roms, so it probably just boiled down to the other more "popular" devs whining about losing a little of their notoriety.

I agree with you on the real reason. I in the other hand agree with the decision. If i spent an entire day to make a rom only to have another "dev" copy it and release everything you did one day later and ask for donations would upset even the nicest person. The paid app was just that one reason they needed without publicly admitting they took sides.

really? just bcuz i dont post as often as you i am somehow not as smart? please note that my account outdates yours, now back to the subject....
 
I am glad this happened. And I know it has little to do with the whole warez/paid apps stuff. Pete, me, and quite a few others have been DISGUSTED at blackdroid and his supposed "ROM". I know that everyone uses other dev's work, but they give credit (and not some widespread thanks in the end of their post) for everything they use. Also blackdroid was literally copying everything Pete did, to the point where you would see a new blackdroid ROM a few hours after a new Pete ROM. The change log's matched up almost exactly (even down to the format they were written in). Pete changes his base, then blackdroid changes his base. Pete fixes something, then blackdroid fixes the same thing. He claims HE did it himself, with no help from others.

Anyone here remember kingklick from G1 development? Same thing all over again.
 
My thread was closed without just cause or proper warning or even being being given any reason after the fact. It all had to do with Pete whining that I copied his rom which was the absolute farthest from the truth, and the other devs didnt like my presense because of many people liking my roms over theirs. My works took a TREMENDOUS amount of work and many nights of lost sleep.

Inclosed is a PM I sent to one the Pete'ites when they refused to stop try to flame me. In all this time I have never done anything (even throughout all of this talk of Pete in the highest of respects):



The only idea that I really got from him was the 7screen launcher and I already told everyone that and gave him his props for the great idea on the 4.0 thread.

My whole reason for starting this project was to make a rom that had every feature in it possible, not to steal from anyone or to take fame away from anyone. I have never once claimed anyones work. I get the best parts from wherever they may be and put them together and make improvements, but at the end of the day, I still have to make them work well together. If you use my rom you will see that it really doesn't act like Petes rom. I have tried out his 2.1 and if you turn the animations on and go in and out of windows really fast the phone will freeze every time, all the animations are turned on on mine and try as hard as you can, the phone just will not freeze. he even turns vibration off, which if kept on at some instances, when going in and out of screen (with animations off), will vibrate uncontrollably out of nowhere and then hard reboot the phone. Now this is not to say that he doesnt do great work, because he has (i used to use his roms exclusively) but since 2.1 there hasnt been one person out there with every feature in one rom, and I wanted to try.

I just want to help to further the community, and be open, and offer help to other (developers included), as often as I can. And I cant tell you how many times I saw Petes name at the bottom of my forum, Interesting stuff huh. Its all about money and fame.

Always good to hear it from the horse's mouth. Thanks for taking the time to chime in, Blackbird. Are you looking for a new host to distribute your ROMs? I never got a chance to try them, but they looked intriguing.
 
Oh and side note. Its also VERY INTERESTING how my thread was closed when I moved to a completely different base that Pete didnt use and that was based off of the ERE25 base. I guess him AND THE OTHER DEVS could CLAIM I took his work for only soo long and "something" needed to be done to silence me
 
I for one love the Blackdroid roms. I did donate to him and am very glad I did. I have his 4.0 ROM and do not have anything in I didnt pay for. I can no longer log into Alldroid's forums. I am not sure if it is because I used BD's ROM or not. I will no longer use alldroid's forum or website. The fact that they would ban a developer only hurts the users of there site. The users are left with an installed ROM with no support. Thanks for Alldroid for leaving me out in the cold.

Now I will follow Blackdroid wherever he goes. A quick google search led me to this forum. I love his ROM and he is there for any questions you have. Keep up the good work BD and when you make good products the masses will find you. :)

I dont know after all of this, and after having soo much mud slung in my way unjustly, I dont know, I have been offered soo far to join three other different forums, but I am not in it for competition (which kills the whole purpose of having a development forum) or any more drama.

if it is true that the ERE25 base u used was different to pete at the time then this is pretty wack since pete just came out with a new 2.1 rom with that same base...

WOOOOOOW and I did notice he was roaming around my thread yesterday, even a few of my family members that follow the site informed me of this.

Seems kind of fishy huh

If you look at my (now closed forum) you will see that I was the first to announce i was coming out with an ERE25 base.
