Eris to v2.x, when?

Yeah, I'm still totally scared to apply this. I have it downloaded, but I don't know what to do. Is this the exact same as what the OTA update will be or will it be changed between now and then?

I'm running it just fine. But I think it will be changed. I'm pretty sure that when the OTA comes out, if anything is different we will still get it.

It's a chance you decide if you're going to take or not. Something tells me once you update it this way, updating using the OTA (assuming it even comes to you) will mess things up. Who knows about versions after 2.1? What if bug fixes come out a month from now, will these guys get them or not? If they do, will it mess something up? If they don't, then what?
 
If you are having load problems, do a PC backup of your card content and reformat the SD card from within 1.5. Then re-load the PB00IMG.ZIP file and try again. I just ran thru this, all the way to the black screen with a exclamation point (scared the crap outta me!) but that was my problem, I was using a card that wasn't formatted BY the eris, it was my old BB Tour card. It worked from the get go when I put it in so I never bothered to reformat it with the eris!

I just did and now the update is working.

I'll post back in 10 with updates.

Screw it then. I'll just be patient and wait. The OTA update can't be long now.

Looks like they gave us a task killer

"If you press the +->Shortcut->Settings->Running Services you get a direct connect to the task manager and can kill any task you want."

Someone may want to change their signature soon. :rolleyes:
 
where did everyone download theres from who has it working? i downloaded the one from cowboys link but not seem to load right, when i get the boot menu it loads all the files and says no image found or something along those lines and no text comes up saying update... ughh lol

Just figured that out too, freakin lovin this! I had stupid shit running in the background even task killer didnt find.

Edit: doesnt kill tasks just "services"
 
alright seems to be doing something different now i moved the location of the file, did the boot, now a blue box is loading up. think i got it finally ill let u guys know, thanks so much for the help

No I don't. You will notice what is not present in the list of apps for the internal killer. It isn't a true task killer.;)
