Root problem with mikg 3.11

Ok, so here is what I did.... I downloaded mikg 3.11 fullwipe from the xda developers website. I flashed it to my EVO 4g and wiping everything but SD card 3 times and I can't seem to turn on 4g. I do have a nandroid back up so that's not an issue just wondering if one top the 3.11 fullwipe I needed to do update or something else. From what I read I dony believe so, but I could be wrong.

Also, one other question regarding kernels... When you flash a kernel shouldnt you be able to go to software info on phone and see it there?? Or where do you verify it is installed?

Does it turn on in the settings but not show up in the status bar? I think the mik roms only show 4g in the status bar when u have 4g conection but the 4g on with no conection was removed.

To verify the kernel, go to settings --> about phone --> software info --> more and it should be listed there. So you have to do some digging.

That's odd that your 4G won't connect. A couple of things...try updating your profile and PRL. You can do that in menu --> software updates. Just update both of them and try it again. If that doesn't work, I guess I would wonder how good of a 4G reception you normally get. Wimax is pretty finicky. Inside, I struggle to get a signal even though I am in a 4G area. Outside, I get a great signal. Or it could be a tower issue. To verify your wimax keys are still there, download wimax key checker from the market. Like you said, you have a nandroid with your wimax, so it's not a big deal.

I used 4G this weekend while outta town with 3.1, not 3.11, no problems, not sure how you are turning it on.

This is true....I can turn on 4G at home but not connect cuz bad signal, at work I turn on 4G and can connect...it will show it's connected when on, but it wont show the 4G radio is on when not connected..follow?:)

Correct, if the kernel was properly installed it should show up in settings listed below.
answer to second question settings/about phone/software info/kernel version

If you dont see it there, re-download your kernel and make sure your wiping dalvik cache & cache before installing

ok, i did find the kernel, i wasn't pressing a the option....
as far as my 4g with 3.11 it doesn't work. I compared it to the 3.0 by going back with my nandroid backup and it works fine in the areas it won't work with 3.11.

so as of now i'm back to using mikg 3.0. I use my 4g alot and i can't give that up.

well here is what i'm gonna try..
downloading 3.1 then 3.11 update.

I had downloaded 3.11 fullwipe, so we'll see if this makes a difference.

so i did it and no 4g. I didn't have 4g after 3.1 and i decided to flash update for hell of it and as i figured no 4g. I downloaded wimax keys checker and it says rsa keys present.

Any thoughts?

Yes it did. but here is an update to problem solved.

Ok, I have figured out how to fix problem. I needed to flash the radios I found after doing more research. Now it works fine.

Exactly, the newest radios can be found here:
Radio Update - 1/21/2012 - 2.15.00.12.19

I would suggest flashing the all in on radio, wimax, pri, nv version listed I think 3rd in line. Just follow Cookie Monsters instructions, and do not pull the battery under any circumstances while flashing. Might take a trip to brick city.

I really need to get to the stickies, been slacking lately. :(
