Good, you didn't accept the ota. Rooting will be very easy.

Go to the sticky at the top if the forum and read the rooting for dummies gingerbread edition. Step by step instructions for revolutionary are found there. I'm on my phone or id link

ok there is a mac section within the guide. i do not too much about macs however. but if you need help, post it here and we can see if we can help you.
 
Read the link ocn posted. You'll either need to get access to a windows machine or install Linux on yours
 
well basically from what i know you need to have parallel or some other program that will allow windows programs to run on a mac so that you can use revolutionary to root your phone. unfortunately there is not much mac support for android. htc does not even support macs for htc sync or even there unlocking program.

do you have access to a pc. it will make things much easier.

ok so where are you at now? are you rooted? do you have s-on or s-off? you can boot and still make a nandroid backup. just go back to recovery.

power off thne press and hold power_vol down (also make sure that fastboot is disabled, settings>app>uncheck fastboot) and select recovery. then select backup and restore and select backup.

well there are some diifferent ways to do it.

1.you can stay on stock and use the wireless tethering app found in this thread:

or you can get the hotspot hacked found here:

2.or just flash a custom rom like mikg3.1 which has the hotspot hacked cooked in. most custom roms will have this feature.
