Eris to v2.x, when?

the file you downloaded was one of the corrupt ones. The link i provided is another PB00IMG.zip file. Remove the one from your sd card, download this one, and move it over to the card. Disconnect, turn off your phone and then restart while holding volume down. When it reboots it should run the Hboot

is it possible to place the file on the micro sd card while the phone is mounted on the computer or does the phone have to be off. i think i lost my micro sd card>sd card converter thing to connect it directly to my computer.
 
Hey guys just got my eris last week and am new to the forums and the phone but am loving all of it so far! Im sorry for the stupid questions but if i do the manual upgrade to 2.1 will this cancel my warranty? once again sorry for the stupid questions im still figuring this all out!
 
haha thats just my luck alright ill keep slaving away at it havnt done so many battery pulls in ten minutes then jsut now i think
 
Anyone else having trouble with the home button not working with 2.1? Mine works when I hook it up to the PC, but when I unhook it then it doesnt work anymore.

nope, warranty is good
And you'll still receive the OTA which is sent straight from VZW!
 
I still want to know why HTC showed that all the widgets were merged into one page and, on the leaked 2.1 it isn't(maybe we can ask the Nexus One, or Desire people about this?)

format your sd card read earlier people were having problems if they were not using formatted card worth a try...
 
You mean to tell me if I get a new phone right now and put this update on it and it f**ks up my phone I can go to Verizon and get a new one tomorrow.

Thanks for posting. On another note, I am enjoying the Nav, new market, much better calendar functionality (including being able to click on phone numbers and email addresses in appointments to dial). First big glitch was a Force Close on the camera app. I agree that the new interface is much more intuitive and quality of shots is better (and has specific iso settings!). But when I tried focusing outside of the center by pressing on the screen, the whole app froze and took about 30 sec. to post the "force close or wait" notice. Happened twice in a row, so I decided to reboot, then got the message to input Google user PW that others have had for the first time in about 2 or 3 reboots. Camera seems OK now--but I was reminded that this OS still seems in beta mode. Overall very happy to have done the update.
 
have question. im not complaining but mine seems to be a little sluggish...not as quick as everyone else claims...not sure if i got bad file or not, so i want to tryto format my sd card before installing patched rom. if i remove file from sd card can i try to install with new patched file?
 
oh how cool! I just noticed that in 2.1, they moved the SMS character counter to a better place. Now I can see everything while I type. I'm loving 2.1 :)

if u formatted with phone that should have been ok....sorry dont know what else it could be. read some where if you took a card from another phone or bought one that hadnt been formatted you could have problems

I wouldn't say the phone seems sluggish after the update, but the transitions seems a little slower in the fade out/fade situations--but it could be more for aesthetic quality. But apps seem to load fine and everything else seems snappy enough. I've stopped using ATM altogether after this update.
 
So... I now have 2.1 and it's way cool. All of my apps that I had downloaded are still showing on the SD card when connected to my PC, but none are found on my ERIS under All programs or anywhere else. What do I need to do to get all of my apps back? Help please
