Eris to v2.x, when?

Yes, I agree; the thread has taken a quantum leap in usefulness since the leak. Those of us not wanting a leaked update can read through all this and have a pretty good idea what to expect.

I think this thread should be stickied now. ... ... oh, wait... :D

If it's the card that came in the Eris you don't have to format. If it came out of something else (BB etc.) and you didn't format it when you first put it in, chances are that the flash won't take until a fresh format is done.

Well, that it is. It's pretty fast, at least. Stable? I dunno. I've run into a few road blocks, but quickly overcame them. Nothing big. A restart fixed all of them and they never came back.

It is, but it's really just a gimmick and it gets boring or annoying very fast. I don't use Sense anymore. I'm sticking to Home.

Just....flash it...it works fine. What you're asking is something no one knows for sure yet. We won't find out until there's an official release.

Nope, it's working fine for me. I just tried it out to see directions from Auburn to Chicago and it works.
 
so many 2.1 threads have popped up since it was leaked. I figured everyone would come HERE where I posted the INSTRUCTIONS on the leak. Oh well, i can't wait for the

"2.1 is here, not what you thought? Your having problems? Well its a LEAKED update thats NOT finished and YES it has bugs. YOU complained for 3 months and made countless threads on it so DEAL WITH THE LEAKED or WAIT FOR THE OTA" thread

If anyone needs any help I got a lot of help from the devs and even helped a few people find the leak(and patch before they were brought together) so I'll be glad to give assistance. Just shoot me a PM
 
Just flashed my phone to 2.1. I love the pinch to zoom on the homescreen now...

Anyways, back to playing with my phone. I'm so excited over this phone again :D

Mine synced when I started the phone. You may want to try double checking your sync settings under

Settings > Accounts & Sync > Facebook

There are two different facebook accounts and you want to use Facebook for HTC Sense. Make sure that the little sync icon next to your account is green too. Some people have found that it is grey and that it only works after a restart.

Also, your contacts won't sync unless the email addresses match the names in both facebook and people.

NO, mine was on HTC and green. Logged off and back on. Then tried just my FB user name. Nothing again. It says it synced but it only syncs MY contact card. I even reset my phone and reloaded the 2.1 ROM and started again. No luck.
Any other ideas?

Have you tried to connect any of them manually?

If you mean click on a contact and hit link to FB, then yes, and updates etc, and I tried a few that have a 100% name and email match.
Wait, wow odd..
I went in to delete the Market version of FB, and it doesn't let you uninstall..
So then I went into Applications and cleared out the FB app cache.
Then I went and opened the FB app back up, logged in, and went to friends(on the app) and they were blank pics. Then as they started to load up the pics back on to the app, I went to the PEOPLE program and magic happened..
However, it loaded ALL of my friends from FB.(I have alot, I'm very popular )

Let me start by saying, I LOVE 2.1!!! Its the most awesome mistake I could have made and It turned out wonderful!! One bug I will report though is that I have my sound options on, meaning when i touch an item it shoukd click or make a sound. Bug: doesnt always make sounds on some apps. Other than that nothing else is wrong, 2.1 is sharp, fast and easy to install.. Question: does our 2.1 version support LIVE WALLPAPERS? I would absolutely love it if it does, I have an app for it but never showed up in my app tray.:( now if there was a way to root the stubborn thing, I will be impressed..
 
I got a silly question. Is their any way you can change the voice on the navigation. I would love to have a female australian voice on it .. :)
 
I don't know if this has been answered already so my apologies if it has. But when you take the phone out of sleep does the weather widget show an animation of rain falling or clouds like on NKT's video?
 
hi everyone ive been waiting to do this update all day just sat down downloaded the .zip and transfered to my sd and when i hboot it loads a few random files starting with PB00D and then loads the PB00IMG file, takes about a minute to load and then it says its checking.. then nothing.. HELP PLEASE im getting frustrated what am i doing wrong? tried my sd card from my eris and my previous storm

did you attempt to open the file on your computer? if so you broke the sig
In my signature there are instructions, follow them
 
i may have opened it last night by accident cant remeber to be exact i had it dled and had to wait till i got off work to try it out im downloading another mirror i guess so ill give it a try thanks for your help i appreciate it
 
ok now its it loads the .zip quick then says vol up recover, send fastboot and u can only recover and it comes up with a black screen with a triangle and n phone pic and does nothing? wtf hahaha
