Precisely. If the version you load is the same as the OTA, you won't get updated.
If the OTA is a NEWER/DIFFERENT version, you will be upgraded.
I know you're getting tired of this, one more answer please!
Ok, say I do this upgrade. It works great. They push the official OTA, and it's the same, so I don't get the OTA and I'm good to go. Then, when they do an OTA for the bug fixes/patches (I'm assuming they'll do that eventually), I will get those OTA because this is official and the phone is not rooted, right?
I'm going to give it a try, I think. I just want to be careful that I can get the new OTA if it's different, and that I'll get future updates, whether or not the OTA to 2.1 is different.
Thanks!
ETA: You don't need to go into anything to answer me. A simple "Yup, you're smarting than you look" or "nope, you're a dimb @ss" is fine.
ETA (again): Went ahead and went for it. Booting up now.... ..... seems to stick on the verizon page longer, but went past the htc page faster. **shrugs** loading the home screen! ... lol .... sorry, keeping myself busy for the time it takes, to load, guess it's taking so long because it's the first time? It works!! :-D I know everyone has posted that, lol, but I'm so excited! I'm going to DH's work right now to show him.
