Finally got the Sammy up and running Linux now so am now here to help you PG with the development. Don't know how much help I will be due to me not knowing what the problems we are having are so let's get together here and see what we can't compile.

Linux on this machine was actually quite a pain in the butt in a way but have happened to get it to work so I will see what I can't help you out with here. It being a Samsung ALONG with an AMD machine just kills the ease.

what program do you use to decompile the apks? i was using apktool but i switched to kubunutu and it says java isnt avalaible

I'm extremely rusty with kubuntu but you have to install jre (java runtimes) and I believe jdk.. you have to enable the extra repositories.. If you google java Ubuntu I know there are guides by them on how to do it.. I'm on the phone now and don't have access to a computer.. Sorry I couldn't be more help but hopefully pointed you in the right direction.. Been years since I played with Linux.. Think Android is gonna get me back once I get my laptop running again though :)

I had problems installing JDK in Ubuntu 12.04 just because as of version 11.x Ubuntu(And Possibly All Of The Ubuntu Flavors) doesnt come stock with Java repositories to allow the installation. The one in 12.04 that worked for me was...

#sudo add-apt-repository ppa:webupd8team/java

#sudo apt-get update

#sudo apt-get install oracle-jdk7-installer

P.S. This has only worked for me in Ubuntu 12.04 so IDK if this will work for anyone on another flavor and I doubt even on older versions of Ubuntu.

When you use sudo and put add don't you have to have the file. I notice kubuntu is completely different from Ubuntu. I can't watch you tube videos lol

Well you can't watch YouTube videos because of flash not being installed. Search exactly how to have that installed. Sorry if this post is wired... This is my first ever post on TapATalk LoL and I have had it since release day HaHa

The only difference between Kubuntu and Ubuntu is that Kubuntu uses the KDE desktop environment instead of Gnome by default.

Thanks guys hopefully no problems. I see Linux is allot of commands your terminal is up most of the time to change or even install something

Well that is three only major difference.I can boot into Ubuntu and enable KDE on it but what I meant was the latest version of Kubuntu has a different repository to add than the version of Ubuntu that I have
