About​

Welcome, Admirers! Without the headaches of the package blocking that got in the way on the Samsung Galaxy Indulge, the crew over at the #admire channel have successfully rooted your device. :)

Actually, @djrbliss (Dan Rosenberg, bliss in #admire) did. Almost all of the credit belongs to him - he discovered the exploit that gives us root, and wrote the Linux/Mac one-click script. Technical info on the exploit can be found here. Enjoy the fruits of his hard work!

How to Install​

Your device must be in USB Debugging mode. To turn it on, go to Settings > Applications > Development and check the box.

Linux/Mac: Connect your device to your PC, unpack the archive, and run run.sh. You may need to chmod 755 run.sh.

Windows: Install the Samsung USB drivers (download), unpack the archive, and open run.bat.

well the thing is vibrating so i hope this works, will let you know, approx how long before something happens, it has samsung on tfront right now and doing multiple vuibrations

and yes i installed the drivers in windows and its a nooooo gooooooooooooooooo.please fix. error unknown host service

I got the same error when I ran this on win7 laptop. All I did was download/install SuperUser from Android Market and everything works just as root should. Give it a try.

This script has worked for thousands. If you want to make it a bit easier for those learning, just modify script to push the superuser.apk onto the phone.

oh by the way you do not need to download superuser from the market you can use the one that comes with the one click root all you need to do is transfer it to your phones sd card and install it the version that comes with the exploit works fine on the admire
 
THis is a replacement phone w/sd card from old phone, I can't get root I keep getting this message. "adb not recognized as internal or external command. This repeats several times before the press any key prompt comes up. Pressing the key exits the command prompt window but am not rooted.

Never mind got it.

I keep getting a message that "there is no handler on your device for this file format" let it search for one and no go.....what do I do now?:eek:

oops.was referring to the admire-roor-nix.zip file

The rooting has to be done through your cpu..spl chk messed up the file name you listed..LOL

Unpack it(unzip it) and run(open) the run.bat file if on windows with your phone plugged into the computer . Phone must be in usb debugging mode-settings..applications..development..usb debugging

I voided my warranty! Do I care? No! Am I rooted? You bet!

The hardest part now will be what to replace the dreaded 'PowerOn.wav' with!
 
i rooted my android and deleted a system but made a back up but now when a try to restore it says it can install the app or my phone just reboots any help.. its starting to frustrate me because it wont work and it has no reason no to.

i also move the .apk and .odex file to the system and tried to install it that way but it say it cant install.

ok i tired everything to root my phone but i just cant seem to root it
with this method it tells me that my phone doesnt have enough memory and says it cant access package manager
and another time it still said my phone doesnt have enough memory but it didnt tell me it couldnt access package manager and begins installing Superuser but then the phone says in a loop and will stay like that no matter how long i leave it
so what do you suggest i do and Thanks in advance

ok im new here, I searched but didnt find anything. is it possible to root this phone without a pc? The charging port on mine is broke, so it will not connect to the computer....thanks

I"ve done this several times with no success...I guess I'm clueless
 
Search for my how to install cwm recovery and then install one of the custom roms on it and you will a smoother phone.
