Is there and easy way to unroot to access the stock kindle features or can you access them while rooted? Like the Amazon store to buy books
Follow along with the video below to see how to install our site as a web app on your home screen.
Note: This feature may not be available in some browsers.

YOU'RE WRONG! Nah I'm just screwing with youOnce you root, you will still have the same launcher and capabilities as if it was still unrooted. You can install Go Launcher which gives you a different UI to use but there will be an icon in your app drawer for the Kindle Launcher and you should be able to get books through there just like it was stock. Someone correct me if I am wrong.
Your GO Launcher is built into the on screen home button. If your running GO Launcher and want to go back to the original carousel UI then just press the Home button and then it'll ask you which one you want to open. You can set GO Launcher to be the default opening by pressing on the "Use this as default" default box when you press on the home button, or you can do it from the Kindle Settings.

another noob question, with a new rom does it wipe everything? will amazon apps still be there?
Will I still be able to buy and access books?
Well, it depends on what ROM he decides to flash onto his Kindle because most of the custom ICS and CM ROMS aren't doing that as of right now. Since its easier to just go back into the Play Store and download the Kindle Reader App from there free. It also save up a lot of memory that way when making a custom ROM to be able to add me features to help it run smoother and faster. You should be able to. There will be an icon in the app drawer called Kindle Launcher. That will open up the "Bookshelf" Launcher that was stock on the Kindle. You can access and purchase from there normally.
