Root [1st Gen] Fast unroot and root

Is there and easy way to unroot to access the stock kindle features or can you access them while rooted? Like the Amazon store to buy books

Once you root, you will still have the same launcher and capabilities as if it was still unrooted. You can install Go Launcher which gives you a different UI to use but there will be an icon in your app drawer for the Kindle Launcher and you should be able to get books through there just like it was stock. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

YOU'RE WRONG! Nah I'm just screwing with you :) Your GO Launcher is built into the on screen home button. If your running GO Launcher and want to go back to the original carousel UI then just press the Home button and then it'll ask you which one you want to open. You can set GO Launcher to be the default opening by pressing on the "Use this as default" default box when you press on the home button, or you can do it from the Kindle Settings.
The question you had about the Kindle Bookstore. You seemed a little shaky and I'll help you on that subject. Yes, when you do have GO Launcher installed it'll allow you to make purchases from the Amazon Bookstore. You can still use Amazon's crappy AppStore too, but who wants to? I'd take losing the app/book store withe Android Market any day :)
I hope this helps you two out! :)

another noob question, with a new rom does it wipe everything? will amazon apps still be there?

When flashing a new rom you will need to wipe everything. Apps that are downloaded from the Amazon App store should still be linked to the phone you will just have to redownload them again after you sign into yout amazon account. If you are rooted, I would install Google Apps and use the Market(or called Play Store now) instead. Much better selection.

You should be able to. There will be an icon in the app drawer called Kindle Launcher. That will open up the "Bookshelf" Launcher that was stock on the Kindle. You can access and purchase from there normally.
Well, it depends on what ROM he decides to flash onto his Kindle because most of the custom ICS and CM ROMS aren't doing that as of right now. Since its easier to just go back into the Play Store and download the Kindle Reader App from there free. It also save up a lot of memory that way when making a custom ROM to be able to add me features to help it run smoother and faster.

I was thinking of the stock rom but you are correct. I haven't looked into roms for the ones I have at home. My girls use them and they are good with just having the Google apps and the Go Launcher.
