I went onto Unforgiven512's GitHub, and checked the last branch he edited for the Admire {https://github.com/unforgiven512/android_device_samsung_admire} and I have reason to believe it was CM9 due to the release notes, and the files inside. I'm not sure if it's working at all, although he said it 'boots' all over that specific repository. Would someone be able to compile it? I know we have CM7 in progress, but if this is already made from source code, then shouldn't we be able to fix it faster than building an older CM?

Also, all the branches needed have been forked into his Repo, I think if we get a couple of people to work on this together ICS can come faster than we think. Considering this thing boot means a kernel was already put in place, also, I remember Unforgiven saying that he was having the same problems as Boraichee with the RIL drivers, so if Boraichee gets that fixed, that's one step closer to ICS. More like a leap.

So there's a minimum chance we admirers can get CM9...Why don't you try to contact Unforgiven so that he and Boraichee cling toghether in these CM roms?

Not a minimum, a pretty big chance. That is if someone is too pick up were Unforgiven left off. Although, all over his Repo (posted above) it says it boots. Meaning if it turns on when compiled then we have a big shot at fixing it. With that said, I'm not saying it's only a little work. Theres probably alot that needs to be fixed.

I get soo exited with this big news! XD
And his trying to port CM9 without a kernel?

He made his own kernel according to the code. Spread the word that the source code for CM9 has been developed, it was made 2 months ago, but we should be able to pick where he left off. (Unforgiven was the developer that left because he was in the middle of working and had a child).

I dont know if I would trust him. from what I have seen he took alot of peoples money and just disappeared. he has not even had the respect to post anything in months and I know people gave money to him. I may be wrong. but I am just saying what ive seen. I know alot of people gave him money and he just vanished......if im wrong I am sorry

I've talked to unforgiving n I compiled his git. his cm7 branch for the admire compiles n boots. But it's broken. His cm9 branch is not even close to being don't n won't even compile cause it's incomplete.

wanting ics on the admire is like putting windows 7 on a PC that was designed for windows 3.1

I told my friend that it what like putting Windows7 on a Dream Cast.

I wouldn't expect ICS/CM9 for the Admire. It would be exceptionally difficult, especially with the Admire's low RAM. ex. CM9 requires 512 MB for a consideration, the Admire has ~240 MB.

CM7 will likely be the only Cyanogenmod ROM the Admire will see.

Are they that different? Cm7.2 and cm9??

Ok! I thought they were both gingerbread but with different addons ,settings and stuff XD
Thank you for clearing my doubt c:

Google said that minimum requirements for ICS is 256 MB of ram, and I thought that we had 283 MB

Cm minimum requirements is 512 mb of ram.

can it be done? Yes it can. But it's gonna hurt the phone more then it will actually help it

I had the ascend with cm7 i got lucky and overclocked it to 749 . i think this would be a great phone for cm7 and even better if we could overclock add flash player theme changer and rom manager that would be like a ascend on roids.Im not a noob but not a dev. either.I wish i could do more to help. Thanks to all the people who got us here.this phone got a slow start but at this low price its really taking off.

That's the best analogy for putting CM9 on the Admire. Like running Crysis on a x486 lol. maybe not that extreme but admire should not have CM9, so anyone trying should just stop.
