Root Deleting Apps

I read the previous thread on what apps you can delete through root explorer but can you delete messaging, and just use go sms pro? also if you delete metro wifi can you still connect to wifi? another thing is metro u i think its called, idk it takes you to your account information can you delete this?

You can delete anything Metro related including the browser but if you DO delete the browser you are deleting the stock Android browser and must take a Browser apk from the market and put it into the system/app folder. Messaging can NOT be deleted because any third party messaging app just views what is already in the stock messaging app so if you delete the stock messaging app the this party app won't have anything to view from AND you won't receive any messages. Easy wifi can be uninstalled yes...this is one of the ANY metro PCS apps along with my metro

why delete the messaging when u install that other sms app u can use it as default thats all...

I read the previous fourms about deleting pre-installed applications on the Esteem but I had a few questions. Can you delete metro mail? Can you delete Metro WIFI, And if so can you still connect to wifi by going to your settings? Also can you delete my metro without any problems due to that being your basically information involving your account? The last thing is can you delete metro web if you use a different browser such as firefox or dolphin browser?

Actually you can delete the stock messaging and everything will work fine except you won't have picture messaging. At least from my experience anyway.

I download Handscent and Gosms and couldn't figure out why in the world I couldn't send or receive pics. Because I froze the stock messaging app, but everything else works as normal.

Hmm this will be a new thing in the android community then. Are you sure you deleted the MMS.apk and not just froze it? This would be a big thing though to be honest. Not calling you wrong but honestly I HOPE that you are right LoL

No I didn't delete it completely so i guess that would make a difference. haha. I did however delete it through Titanium but had a backup in place. Not sue If that would be the same thing or not but that's what i did.

Deleting but keeping a backup woukdnt make any difference than deleting it no. i still want to see how it would work though bee honest...this quipped be an immense change for Android.
