You are on O2 with O2 branding etc...???? My kies keep saying "Latest Version is installed. VER.2.1.1.11124_17"
I'm on o2 UK,
You are on O2 with O2 branding etc...?
So how is the o2 ICS? Any bugs?
Im a little worried that three and o2 have rushed the release to keep customers happy but its not been fully tested for bugs, the unbranded UK ICS is still work in progress which in a way is good news because I like to think this means bugs are being ironed out and tested
My phone was o2 branded when new but i flashed an unbranded Rom
I'm tempted to try the o2 ICS, is the o2 ICS on xda yet?
Although it won't help with your history, with ICS you can download Chrome Beta from the Play Shop. It is far better than either Dolphin or the standard browser in my opinion.switching between Internet pages is jerky. it doesn't remember your home screens and app folders so it takes an hour or more of messing around to get all that back.
Thanks doobee very helpful
can someone point me in the right direction for the most recent gingerbread UK unbranded firmware that's available (not carphone warehouse csc)
Im asking because I have a German csc at the moment, i need the latest UK csc so i can update to to ICS when it becomes available on kies, I don't mind a temp loss of root
Upgraded to ICS (O2-UK) the day it came out and overall it seems good. Chrome Beta is great, with lots of useful goodies if you use chrome on your pc, but has frozen a couple of times. Other than that it seems to work great, face unlock is a bit of a gimmick (if you're trying to show it off to people, try not to do it with a big grin on your face, or you'll look stupid when it doesn't work). Performance seems good, browser feels faster, but that's just a general feeling and the built in data monitor saves downloading 3rd party apps for this (yet to see how accurate it is, but it seems roughly in line with the My O2 app, allowing for a few days difference in start date). Quadrant also shows a 20-25% increase over 2.3.5 (I can upload screenshots if I can work out how).
I know the update is non wipe, but just to be safe I did a full system wipe before the update (possibly unnecessary, but its a good excuse to get rid of unused apps and should prevent most of the issues some people have reported with ICS, having to resort to a factory reset to improve reliability and performance.
Hope someone finds this useful
T-Mobile UK. Still no update for us yet on the last day of Q1. Not impressed!
