[Official] Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE Pre-release thread - Sprint official launch is Saturday, June 2

I was under the impression that it was already established that the EVO One was going to have a SLCD-2 screen. The SAMOLED screen is for the One S line of devices.

many many rumors....

i have heard the same... it MIGHT be the SLCD2...
battery size rumors...
etc...

same as the other EVO releases... many rumors..
only an official spec sheet...then we will KNOW the specs.

till then.. i am just voicing my $.02

Since my HTC EVO has a Rocker style switch for a volume button, how would I hold down both the Volume buttons at the same time ?

Please advise...Thanks

In that case, it's probably Vol + and Power at the same time. I would test it on my old lady OG EVO, but she's not home at the moment.

Since its obvious Sprint will announce a new EVO on 4/4, can we start an official thread on the EVO One(or whatever it will be called)?

Yep, you're right - I agree that pre-release on this is going to be big.

In my mind, this thread here or this one there is closing in on being the official pre-release thread -

http://androidforums.com/htc-one-x/517584-sprint-htc-one-x.html

I'm tempted to merge these two, but you cats tell me - keep both and leave well enough alone, close this and point to that one, merge, or other?

as for the AMOLED screen rumors, they ALL source back to android central and ONE source. the SLCD-2 rumors have been confirmed by 2 of phandroids "inside tipsters" so im going with SLCD-2. its what makes the deal for me anyway, if it's amoled or SAMOLED or SAMOLED HD ill look elsewhere, over exaggerated colors tick me the wrong way haha

as for the EVO One thread, it took lots of begging from me and a few others to get the Supersonic thread started back when the rumor mill started churning haha, it was no easy task but we got the admins to do it, i think it's easier to just wait 4 days and have the thread opened on announce though to be honest.

I will be happy if this new Evo does Not have that pentile AMOLED. I know some people love it, but I simply think it is awful

Oh dear God, I just shuddered at this thought -

All of these rumors began on Android Central's forums.

Please tell me that BlueScreen hasn't found a new home to troll from.

(for anyone who missed him, thank your lucky stars - total troll)

I used to be a Sprint customer, so I am subscribed to these threads... Now I have a DROID RAZR with VZW. It has a non removable battery, and there is a a button sequence that will reboot the phone when it locks, or gets stuck in a bootloop. It has been confirmed by users of this forum to work in both situations. Seeing as Moto has never been a hacker's best friend like HTC has, I would assume that teh HTC device will have a similar feature to the Moto. (just an assumption, here)

LOL, that was so funny because I was on to him because all the BS he was saying, however I don't think this one is from that troll. From what I understand it is from one of the Androidcentral guy, Phil who said he got it from a "reliable" source (for whatever that's worth).

As to a "battery pull" equivalent, of course they will have one so there's no need to worry about that.

BTW, how do you double quote?

That little button at the bottom of each post will multi quote

Considering my upgrade dies not come until July 2013, I guess I will have to wait, but the new HTC does look nice. I would love to have 16 GB hard drive space considering I am running out of hard drive on my EVO.

i would love that. My lg optimus s, has only like 150 MB of space.

If I remember correctly, we had a thread well before the EVO was announced. The Supersonic days lol.

Well its up to you....you're the mod lol. Maybe we should put this thread along with the one you posted above into the new official thread.

oh we defiantly did lol i remember it being the supersonic thread before we knew the name EVO lol. my point was, this time around for the HTC One, we are only four days away until they have to make a thread for it, but if an admin would like to create a HTC One section to the forums and throw both of the above mentioned threads into that one i think that would be a great start. ;)

I concur! How about it EarlyMon? :D

Makes a HUGE difference. I didn't think it would, but going from a non-rooted EVO (that was having memory issues, but not really "lagging" that much) to a non-rooted MoPho that still barely lags (w/ 160+ apps) after 8 months of owning the phone...definitely a huge difference (not to mention the faster processor and more RAM that helps too).

How much memory and ram is on the phone!?

Lol. I thought I was the only one thinking these rumors could have come from Blue Screen. But I guess we will know what the truth is on the 4th.

OK, I blended a few and here we are - welcome to the Official Pre-release thread.

Right now we have a single HTC One X forum, let's see how the model develops in the coming days and we'll plan further forum structures from there. ;)

Long time no talk, my friend. Hope all is well.

Doing fab! :) How about you?

Still using my Evo as a wifi appliance, still really enjoying my 3vo.

But that 3-way camera comparison really surprised me about the One. Not just the camera, but the overall shape and form factor looked better than the Sony and GNex, to me anyway.

Agreed completely. Normally, I consider the cam not high on the priority list, but the one's cam looks superb in every aspect.

The camera has always been the weak point of every phone I've owned. Despite being able to get good pictures out of them from time to time, they've often failed me when most needed.

A lot of people advise to simply use a good camera - I don't agree.

The best camera is the one that you have on you when it's really needed, and for me, carrying a camera means my kit backpack with lens, flashes, filters, etc etc.

But I am rarely without my phone.

Same. I'm not much of a camera nut, and for my "real" camera I just have one of those tiny Nikon's that puts out pretty good images. But just as you said, I rarely have that on me. I've never had a phone with a camera that I could call "good".
