Root Rooting Problem PLS HELP!

Well Guys, Ive been trying to root my Esteem for the longest time ever. Ive followed every step on the guides everything seems to be in order but yet again i cant seem to successfully root my phone.

I came close to rooting my phone but when the rooting starts Now I get this :

Cannot stat 'su' : No such file or directory
Unable to chmd/system/bin/su No such File or directory
link failed File exists
Cannot stat 'superuser.apk' : No such file or directory
cannot stat 'busybox' : No such file or directory
Unable to chmod/system/xbin/busybox: No such file or directory
/system/xbin/busbox: Not found
Cleaning up
rebooting one last time....
Root Completed.....

So ive been breaking my head off and still nothing..

The only things i havent done is a factory reset after i upgraded the to ZVD but i dont think that is necessary or is it???? I just dont want to get rid of all my apps...
The only reason I want to root is to be able to Tether my phone. If there is an other way to do it without rooting, that would be great.. PLS guys help!!
 
How are you checking if the phone is rooted or not?

Looks like superuser isn't installing so try downloading it from market. Looks like the phone should be rooted.

I downloaded the superuser but once install its says "No apps in list" No log Information"
Showing O entries...
Is there another way I can check? Thanks for the help
 
I download the root check app and in fact is Not Rooted.. So Idk what im doing wrong. Any suggestion i will be thankful

Yes.. That is the method Iv'e been using.

Is there any other things that i need to install prior to do this?
For example before I even got to the point where superuser and busybox error message apair while rooting. The ADB file was the problem. It showed that the file didnt had no external or internal command etc etc// I found a trouble shooting for that problem but than thats when the message of unable to install superuser and busybox appear. Tho this time the phone rebooted but was not rooted.... Im not sure if I make since.. Its frustrating
 
Well Thank You guys for the help.. I was able to root my phone last night. I re install all the drives again and did it step by step and it finally worked!!!!!! :-D
