Help Keyboard/flash player

I HATE this keyboard. I downloaded the gingerbread keyboard but can't make it dominant. How do i go about doing this? Do i have to be rooted? AND is flash player supported on our phones?

Settings - language and keyboard - put a check next to the keyboard(s) you want to use.

Next time you type something, long-press the text box and choose input method and the keyboard you want to use.

You may have already done this. If it won't "stick" after rebooting or power-cycling, make sure you haven't installed the keyboard to the SD card.

If you install the keyboard to the SD card, the input choice will not stick and will revert to default every reboot.

Unless you're rooted and Link2SD'ed, but that's a totaly different story...

Thanks guys. I'm not rooted yet. At least not on this phone. I haven't seen the point yet unilateral a decent mod comes out but I haven't really browsed yet. Only had the phone a couple days. Switching from a prevail running CM7 on it.

Don't even consider rooting for that reason. The phone has 2.5GB internal memory and that's more than enough space for keyboards galore.

And of course Flash can be simply downloaded from the market and working seconds later.

I am very very VERY picky when it comes to keyboards and i always use the swype method, ive tried them all, my personal favorite is flex t9 by Nuance. absolutely recognizes way more words then the rest, but its just my opinion.

I wouldn't root just because of the keyboard, bro. I said I would root for the mods. CWM and CM7. I installed gingerbread 2.3 keyboard. It works perfectly. I just couldn't stand the stock one.. Much less t9 or swipe. Both are irritating..

to each is own, but i agree if your only rooting for a keyboard, than its not the best idea.
