Better 3G settings

I came from a prevail I did this too, I was able to get 2.1meg down from the 1.4 I had stock

Awesome guys, good find and thanks for sharing on the forum. Couple quick questions.... Are you guys rooted?? How do I get my MSL #?? Thanks guys... I'm kinda a noob when it comes to smartphones so any help would be great. Thanks again.

Rooted, used logcat, there was a post a long time ago on the warp forum for this, i'll see if I can find it

I guess I don't know about logcat if you have to be rooted

Basically I downloaded LogCat, followed the instructions on the link downthemachine provided (thanks) to get my MSL code. Used that code to get into the proxy addresses. Switched them both to 0.0.0.0 after I wrote down the originals. Then tested my 3G speed. After that I uninstalled LogCat, rechecked speed and good to go. Thanks all for the help!!

Like Chevanlol360 said.... You don't need to be rooted.

I've never had an Android phone that did NOT become hotter due to increased activity. Increased data transfer, and conversely bad signal, will heat up your phone.

This doesn't increase traffic. If anything it will reduce it because the connection would establish quicker without going through a proxy.

theres no "other" menu on my phone in that list just strait multimedia

under dss what happens if u set it to google dns

what is rev tunneling

changing the proxies makes mine slower but then again for some reason speedtest says im in kkansas when im actualy in michigan

If it helps.

See a previous comment I made about data processing for mobile phones. I didn't think there were so few data centers, as someday previously mentioned there's one nearer to where you live than Kansas.

That's probably because it uses the phone's geolocation when it's available rather than tracking down the location of its external IP. After all the phone does track its location via GPS and network towers, while an attached computer doesn't have these benefits included.

I'm confused.

When I try to do this I

go to the dial pad and put in ##3282#

it brings up a screen that asks if I want to view or edit

I click edit

it asks for my msl#

I enter it and hit ok

I click multimedia

and it brings up a screen that lists 4 things

rtsp proxy address which is rtsp.vog.sprintpcs.com

rtsp proxy port

httppd proxy address

and httppd proxy port

there is nowhere to enter the 0.0.0.0 at all

Any ideas what I'm missing or doing wrong?
