I will decide when they are both out. I am definitely ditching the Droid. I need a phone without a keyboard. Keyboards became outdated in 2007, and having a phone with a keyboard is like using a discman instead of an mp3 player.

That is more of a personal opinion. If you want to use apps that require a keyboard (like terminal emulator) then what do you do? Also I don't like the non tactile feel of a flat screen when I'm typing, it is much harder to memorize the layout. Have you noticed when you use the virtual keyboard it takes up a ton of extra space? That is another downside. And the biggest problem for me is I have oily skin, so when I type on screen I get tons of fingerprints. Yea I know that will still happen since it is a touch controlled phone/UI but you get a lot more smudges/smears when your only choice is to type on the screen.

Keyboards will never be outdated, there will always be a user base for them just like there is one for touch only.

I love my droid and it loves me in ways you guys wouldn't understand. Like a physical keyboard is a must for me i tried with the htc hero and i liked the hero but oh i hate how if i wanted to type hi i get hu or say hello i get jello. Oh and one more thing i hated typing my wife xoxo just for her to read coco or something bad which i won't say. What i would like in let say droid 2 would be maybe color selection and a front facing camera.

I personally like the option of the physical keyboard, even though I use the touch more, it is still nice to have at times.

As for upgrading, well, I will be waiting until my new every two is up, and see what we have available at that time. I don't really see a point in leaving the Droid early, it does everything I can even want it to and then some.

You can save your xoxo's and hello's in the dictionary thou

I typically keep my phones for at least a year, so the droid will stay.

Android 2.1? check. 1ghz? check. Great screen? check. Keyboard? check. Rooted? check. Active community improving it daily? check.

I don't see enough changes to justify the expense and hassle.

So when I'm ready to upgrade Verizon will be rolling out LTE/4G phones, Bluetooth 3.0 should be more common, and hopefully something with a nice super-AMOLED screen will be available. The droid will do nicely until then.

Oh i meant on my Hero not droid. Also i am 6'4 and have big hands so trying to touch a letter is hard for me because most of the time i cant see what i am touching. I have tried trust me guy i have tried. Like i told my bud its like guessing when im typing does anyone know what i am talking about. Just my opinion . Oh sorry back to topic Droid rules.:eek::eek::eek::eek:

yeah keyboard is all opinion, my wife and i both prefer keyboards so thats why we have a G1 and a Droid respectively

One of they differentiators of the Droid is the keyboard. The Nexus/Incredible have a faster processor, almost as good a screen (slightly lower res). What other key differences would one be missing on one vs. the other, aside from the physical keyboard, carrier, and currently OS version?

Not much ....

You should add "see how it pans out" as one of the poll options. I figure that's where a lot more of us sit than you'd think.

The beauty of the droid is that the physical keyboard is a complete luxury and having it there doesn't inconvenience me in the least bit. Droid owners have the best of both worlds when it comes to keyboards. The main reason I bought this phone was because of the keyboard, and android of course. Plus, I only paid $50 bucks for it brand new through Amazon. That deal was way too good to pass up. Those AMOLED screens really suck in the sunlight also, so texting outside on those other phones is going to be frustrating for those HTC buyers. The screen on the droid is amazing though, no matter the time of day. For those that HATE the keyboard on this phone have obviously not put in the time to learn how to fully appreciate it. I use my right index finger and my left thumb to type on the physical keyboard and I fly through texts and emails.
If everyone waited for the next best phone to come out, then no one would have a cell phone because now days newer, better, faster cell phones are being introduced every other month. Just my 2 cents. :)

I like the keyboard, I like the home docking, I like the car docking, The screen is beautiful... The droid runs well with its slower proc, I'll wait till they get more Program memory before I get another phone, otherwise there is no point in spending another 200 bills, So Droid for me

I won't be jumping ship until we get another (and much better) phone with a physical keyboard. If something like the droid comes out that has a far superior camera, for example... I will be the first one over the bow. ;)

Definitely stickin' with my Droid (physical keyboard of course), but it might be an improvement for any ERIS owners, if they're willing to cough up the cash. The specs look nice but as a previous person said, I don't believe all of those are accurate. I really think something has to be done about the mobile phone storage issue. 8GB simply isn't feasible space for a phone that is designed to play music and videos. 16 GB isn't much better, but I'd say it's (barely) enough to get by.

I won't be getting an upgrade for two years or if a big big chunk of change falls in my lap :)

but like i said before, i am quite satisfied with droid, so that does not anger me at all

I just got the Droid on Saturday, so her majesty would be right in wanting to kill me if I went for a new phone now.

Having said that, what I've seen of the HTC Incredible isn't incredible enough for me to want to replace my Droid with it. More usable RAM is nice, but I haven't run into any problems with the Droid yet so it's not a must-have. AMOLED screens have advantages and disadvantages - which makes the screen type largely a wash as it's dependent on use cases - but the higher resolution of the Droid is at least a minor plus in it's column.

I'm not thrilled with the smaller SD card - but that's upgradeable. However it does raise the effective price. I'm perfectly happy to have 16GB from the get-go.

The real deal-breaker for me is the keyboard - the Droid is good enough for everything I do and it has a real keyboard.

What's the point of having a huge and beautiful screen if you're just going to cover it up with a virtual keyboard?

Those two phones are nice but I'd rather keep the best and thinnest Android phone with a keyboard. The only phone I would consider ditching my phone for is the Supersonic only because I would be saving money if I switched to sprint but that's about it.

I use a "one-glance" policy when it comes to phones. That one glance is to look for a physical keyboard. If it has one, it gets a second glance. If it doesn't, I'll be moving right along with my horribly outdated, centuries-old, 4-month-old phone. :)

I'm keeping my Droid. I have too much money in accessories to ditch it now. Plus, I love having the optional physical keyboard. My job requires me to use Excel and to email spreadsheets using my phone, which I can do with no problems at all with my Droid. Try doing anything with Excel with a touchscreen only - you can't without a lot of frustrating mistakes!
