from what I am reading in an htc forum, the leaked 2.1 ROM for the Eris did NOT have speech to text. They are hoping it changes for the final version.

Yea i'm pretty sure i remember him saying that it wasn't included 'yet'. but it sounded like it might get added later, along with 720p recording. The sense rom they had on the desire at MWC was stated to be an older build.

I am sold on this phone! Done, Done and Done. Now for the price! I am willing to shell out $199 - $299 for this phone!

Just a quick heads up, i've updated the first post with all the latest info and pics provided with the latest batch of news. I was at work earlier and wasn't able to post the pics (i couldn't even see them!) but kept the info updated. It should now all be there.

Side note: It seems with all the techo-clerking i'm doing for this thread i'm running out of some sort of personal quota with my profile for attachments...what can be done about that? Do i need to request more? Or do i have to have some sort of different status (Guide, Mod, etc...)?

I'm going to sell my droid soon before this phone is released so the price doesn't drop too much. i hope thet release it in white

So if we are getting the low end SNAPDRAGON chip will we be able to overclock the phone? And do you have to root the phone to overclock?

A little information is a dangerous thing....but it's all I have at the moment. So, here's my downer bit....

I'm not sold yet. It sounds promising. Especially since NKT said "Blazing"...but doesn't it feel a bit like a rip off when we've all waited and hoped/expected that this phone would have the same speed as the N1? What's so incredible?

Perhaps real world translation will be great...but other than the frustrating touch buttons on the N1...and the fact that one might have to use Google support....I'm not seeing the huge advantage. Okay, I know Sense is nice...and having an FM radio is nice (I guess?) and the camera sounds like an upgrade...but really...when it gets down to actual phone speed and features the contest seems to be a tie. And then it's all about what's important to each person. Perhaps a person wants the fastest phone with faster updates....and maybe a little more attractive?

Why would Verizon release this phone when the Desire and N1 have the faster processor? Like I said...not completely sold yet. Gonna wait for reviews and comparisons before I jump. I've waited too long to not at least compare these two phones.

Exactly what is so INCREDIBLE it seems lower end especially when the Desire hits AT&T.:D

the desire will probably be a yahoo phone with yahoo serach and ATT maps :)

Keep in mind - it's ALL relative. What's amazing for one person might be mediocre for another. For my personal needs and wants, (not to mention still using the same Moto V3a Razr for the past 2 years), the Incredible will be absolutely stellar!! :)

People get all bent out of shape on numbers. Would you rather have a fresh 2ghz computer or a 3ghz computer that has been in a "i download everything and click on every pop up" person's hands for a year. If the phone runs fast on 800 who gives a shit what the number is.

Don't put too much emphasis on numbers. Most of the people who have had hands-on with this thing say it's blazing! But I guess some people have a need to run 100 apps simultaneously just for the hell of it or they're not satisfied.

Edit: ^^^Beat me to it!
