I'm just about ready to declare this my next phone after the revelations of this morning.

Here's me having to wait until my contract us up. ->

I agree. This will be my next phone. I personally don't care about any contract history, because my company pays for them :) However, as soon as a 4.3" android comes out, I am upgrading, so you can get Incredible on ebay when that happens:rolleyes:

is it easy to accidentally press the touch buttons (ie while texting) like on the nexus one. That is one reason, I was leaning toward the desire with its physical buttons.

They do appear to be farther from the screen than they are on the N1. Confirmation of this would be awesome!

I nominate NKT as the official president of the Incredibles Fan club! Thank you so much for all the great info (I was the last poster last night - as of 2:10am PST when I checked - and I come here this morning and see it has blew up another 7 pages.. my first thought was WTF?). I don't think there has been a member on this board that has been thanked so many times in such a short time frame.

Note, for all the people who are curious about specs and asking questions, please take time to look over the previous pages to make sure you're question hasn't been asked. This will avoid alot of clutter and repeating answers over and over again. I'm sure all of us will appreciate it.

I'm glad I weathered this storm with all the regulars here! Today has made it all worth it!!!

New to the forum, long time lurker.

Question to NKT(god of new info)

Any comments on the battery life while you had hands on time?

Not trying to put down your question, but I'm thinking that a touch of hands on time probably won't be enough to get an accurate reading on the battery. We may have to wait until VZW releases a handset or two to some sites like engadget to review. Just my .02, but hopefully he can answer accurately for you and the rest of us.

PS Welcome to the forums, glad you registered

Note: ALL credit for this goes to coolbho3000 from Engadget. I just found this interesting...

768MHz is NOT underclocked. Qualcomm's source clearly says there is a 768MHz part, presumably available to OEMs at a lower cost.

For the technically inclined: https://www.codeaurora.org/gitweb/q...274bcca7966c626f50cabe4dfe9819c;hb=eclair_rum

According to the source, there's three versions of the QSD8x50 chip: a 768MHz part, a 998MHz part (in the Nexus One), and a 1.267GHz part.

Acer Liquid users have trouble reaching 1GHz with custom kernels without overvolting beyond what the Nexus One has its Snapdragon set at.

Of course, HTC could have bought the 1GHz part and underclocked it - but that would be a waste of money. The Liquid/Incredible Snapdragon is a slower, lower cost part. End of story.

NKT said it was still pretty fast, so if those lower costs means that I don't have to pay as much, I'm fine with that. (riding on the fact that the phone IS fast)

I am having trouble finding the video where the HTC rep said there wasn't speech to text in sense 2.1 (or at least the build he had). It was the rep at MWC with the big hands and scottish? accent. If anyone remembers where they saw the vid link it so we can have another look.

So what are the model numbers for the different chips?

I feel bad for the people who don't have computer access at work and will have to wait until this afternoon (PST) to see this thread and the 10+ pages of great info contained within. Glad I jumped in this before the pages got completely out of hand:D

from what I am reading in an htc forum, the leaked 2.1 ROM for the Eris did NOT have speech to text. They are hoping it changes for the final version.

Another forum asserts that the Desire has speech to text, so why wouldn't the incredible?

They ARE out of hand! ;)

I'm gone for 24 hours and this is what I come home to? Only on p98 but I'll catch up soon. Maybe I should take a hiatus more frequently for everyone's sake.
