Man I guess the only thing we need now is a release date! I mean I'm thinking it will be pretty soon. I think it'll be late March or early April. I mean May is a ways off and remember this thing is already in the inventory system at VZW.

Props to everyone that contributed to the thread ... you've made me a N1 convert!

10 days away from CTIA. If all these specs are confirmed, I'd wait till June if I had to.....but I hope we get it very soon.

I think you may be on target about how you explained the ram however. :)

Also, source doesnt know/think it has noise cancellation mic.

No sim card slot.

Source says the speaker sounds pretty good.

anything on the weight of the handset? Heavier/lighter than the N1. Any official number? thanks
 
OK, so in comparison with all the other info folks have found out, this is hardly newsworthy but I've enjoyed this thread so much (when I've been able to keep up with the pace...LOL!) I wanted to contribute what I could. I was just on the phone with VZW support and when asked if there was anything else she could help me with, I asked about the Incredible. She looked up and only found info about the LG Cosmos "feature phone" (aka dumbphone) BUT she said it had a launch date of March 25th and typically she said that they launch several new phones at the same time...she reiterated this twice. So, take it for what it's worth...which isn't much. But at least I feel able to contribute *something* to this epic cause. :)
 
I'm not sure if there's anyway your source could tell, but is the glass screen gorilla glass like on the DROID or is it the same glass used on the N1? Considering the N1 has had some cracked screen issues.
 
Maybe this was already said and I missed it. But I've been mulling over the recently updated specs of the Incredible the past day or so and I'm wondering if this is in a way, VZW's N1 killer. I mean, I know they're in a partnership with Google and all, but do they *really* want the cell phone game changed to Google's way of doing it? Not really. As has been said numerous times, they don't really lose from the N1 because it's sales that are profits to them without a lot of work (assuming it won't be sold in stores) BUT why choose the N1 when you get a phone with better specs directly through VZW, using NE2 discounts, instore direct support, etc. It just seems like maybe they're trying to say, "Sure you can purchase the N1 directly through Google and use it on our network. But you'll have to send away your phone for any problems, etc. And, of course, we have this better phone available now that you can have today directly through us..." Not exactly a tough sell :)

Sorry, just thought I'd share my musings.

What? I don't understand the question. They'll work fine with the live wallpapers. When you pinch out, the background is behind the cards, not in the cards.

exactly. the desire in a few of its youtube vids has live wallpapers going when they do the helicopter view.
 
Wow. Thanks again NKT and now, Stericson, for the great information. Am I correct in saying that as of now, there is no difference (internally) between the two phones except the Incredible having that extra memory?

Also, I was reading up on the forum this morning and found the bit from Stericson about the processor not being underclocked. Out loud I said "Holy Shit.." and when my girlfriend looked at me startled, I replied; "The Incredible's processor isn't underclocked!" She only started speaking to me an hour ago.
 
Welcome Stericson! Thanks for the info. Between you and NKT, and as was said before, we pretty much have everything except the phone in our hands.

Regarding Stericson's source and the battery life, I'm sure we all recall the droid suffered from the same issue similarly. I was getting horrible battery life until I began using the power widget to disable gps..etc. From that point on, life was substantially better and I'm sure we can do something similar with the Incredible.
