Isn't the Devour coming out on the 15th? or is it the 25th?
is there any way you can get them to expand on the 2 androids coming out?!

Official release date of the Devour for Verizon is the 25th. They didn't have any information about the other Android phone.

That makes sense as VZW will probably announce the N1/Incredible at CTIA, release the N1 on the 25th (through Google) along with the Devour, and then the Incredible mid to late April.

I really hope that isn't true and they do what they did with the Eris(announcement of the Eris 24 hours before it was sold) and announce the Incredible at CTIA and start selling them on the 25th.

I am going to stick with my theory and say that:
Devour and Incredible on the 25th

and

Nexus One on April 1st....same as Vodafone release date.

Fair enough. The problem I see is with the Incredible being such a spec-heavy phone, and a flag ship phone, that they are going to push it - which means atleast a decent amount of advertising (nothing compared to the Droid though). So if they were to announce it at CTIA, that'd only give them two days of ads for the Incredible. With the Eris, that phone wasn't that big of a deal nor did VZW want to overshadow the Droid AT ALL, so the 24 hr window was reasonable.

edit: Where did you get the April 1st Vodafone date from? Last time I checked, it just said coming soon. I only saw April for the Desire and Legend.

Ture...But what if it was HTC that made the call on the announcement of the Eris for 24 hours before release. They could do the same for the Incredible. Plus I think Motorola has a bunch more money to throw at VZW to market their device over HTC.

Plenty of time if they start shooting ads all over March madness.

I'm just hoping for the best! :D had an upgrade waiting for about 3 months now!

I don't believe neither HTC or Motorola have any play in the announcements of their devices ON carriers. They typically announce that a phone will exist (see: MWC and the Desire/Legend/HDmini) but not when it will be released on the carrier. The carrier orders the phones from the manufacturer (So companies like Motorola/HTC already have gotten their money) and then decides when they want to release it to the public. As for the Droid, VZW paid for most, if not all, of those ads. I forget the exact dollar amount but it was a pretty large sum.

pretty sure it was 100$ million

I would think with any larger aftermarket battery, you're going to need an aftermarket backplate due to the weird contour/shape of the original one. The original one seems to "fit just right" onto the back of the phone, and seems molded into that shape. This may not be a bad thing, as I'm sure some company will sell smooth, flat backplates which, abeit a little thicker, won't have the weird angles on it.

seidio claims the 1600 mah will work with oem back for the nexus one.

Can anyone answer my question? I'm pretty confident there is because most android phones do, but I'm still curious. Thanks in advance.

My first post - Hi all. I just have a question, I did a search which rendered no results so I figure I'll ask. To those who have seen the Incredible in person can they confirm that it has a dedicated Lock Hard Key? (Like the N1, Desire, iPhone etc.. all have them on the top of the device) Not a big deal but I'm just curious. By the way, I've been following this thread for about a day and would just like to say thanks to all of you guys for y'alls help. Oh and to the people repping Tennessee, I'm from NC lol, not that far away.

Well the Devour is already available through Wal-Mart and Best Buy etc, and will be in Verizon stores and online on the 15th so that won't happen on the 25th ;) I still think they'll announce the Incredible at CTIA but it won't be available til sometime in April.

Right, I was talking about Verizon's official release date.

Looks like yall have all the information yall need for this phone.

BTW, All Android phones have a "running" speed and an "Idle" speed, as most chips/processors do :)

Quick question Stericson, did your source say anything about HD video recording capability, either current or capable with software update? Your help here has been, well....incredible! :D

@ Stericson

Thanks so much for your patience in answering all these questions.

This phone sounds truly amazing and I can hardly wait to see it in the stores. It finally seems the time is near for a true do all PDA. Again thanks for getting me/us all excited over this and please thank your source for us also.

Just thought I'd check in with a couple of thoughts that I have after finally getting caught up with the rest of you - once again!

First, regarding the iPhone rumored to come to Verizon in June - if this really is the case, I would think that Big Red would want to release the Incredible as soon as they can - before people get wind of the iPhone coming out in June. In that regard, it would be great news for those of us waiting for the Incredible!

Secondly, there are quite a few concerns - warranted - regarding the Incredible's stock 1300mAh battery and if there will be after-market upgrade options which might become available. A month ago, I was this close to purchasing an Eris and had quickly become aware of the number of people out there who were thoroughly disgusted with the Eris' 1300mAh battery. At that point I researched Seidio's options at length and saw that they made a massive 3500mAh battery for the Eris which includes a replacement back in which to house this bigger beast.

Battery info: Innocell 3500mAh Extended Life Battery

Eris w/ back photos: http://www.seidioonline.com/PhotoGallery.asp?ProductCode=BACY35HHRV-BK

Keep in mind that the replacement back does add about 4mm of depth to the phone, and people were then quick to complain about the added "bulkiness" of the Eris with the new back on it. You just can't please everyone, it seems. But follow my thought process here... if Seidio were to offer the same type of battery and back for the Incredible, it wouldn't necessarily add any additional overall depth to the phone because the Incredible already has the tiered, layered back - the Seidio replacement back would merely make the phone have a smooth, uniformly deep back while adding very little or no further depth in the process! Voila! Your Incredible now has a smooth, uniform back and a monster battery beneath it! Here's hoping that they can - and will - do it!! :)

Hi All! Great information! I have been following for a couple days now and it's been awesome.

SO, I have a question: There has been a lot of talk about the specs on The Incredible. NOW, what I would like to know is HOW these specs will make this phone a game-changer (I know its fast and can store a lot of memory), but what is this phone capable of doing, as far as everyday function. Please explain, I know The Incredible is capable of doing MANY things, but exactly WHAT can an average user expect from it, as well as an advanced user?

:D Thanks for your feedback! It's appreciated.

P.S. I am not tooo tech savvy, so I am just trying to understand how I can use this Incredible phone. :)

I admire your optimism, but I just don't think that's physically possible. I'm sure the stock back already fits flush against the battery. Unless they have special magic liquid batteries that can fit and flow into the "tiers" that have been cut away in the stock back (hint: they don't), they're going to be stuck with a normal rectangular battery that has no place to go but straight out. If anything, an extended battery and associated replacement cover will make the Incredible seem to gain more mass than something like the Eris, since it was already pared down an exceptional amount to begin with.

I was very disappointed when Steve Jobs didn't announce the iPhone last month, when he announced the iPad. Was I going to purchase the iPhone? Probably not. I just would have liked to have been able to look forward to having the choice. You see, even at that time, I knew the N1 was supposed to be coming to VZW. I heard that it was a superior phone so I was looking forward to learning more about it.

The next stage of my techno pilgrimage included all of the terrible reports I had heard about the N1 (no multi-touch at the time (now it's there but it has problems for gamers), support issues, problems with the 3G connection (some said it was the antenna placement) and not family plan upgradable.)

It seemed to me to be the deal killer. Should I purchase a phone, as wonderful as it sounded, that came with such baggage and no VZW support?

Then came the Incredible rumors. It sounded like a great phone, but it was under-clocked and it only had 256 mb of Ram. *sigh*. Was it a Droid Eris mid-level replacement?

Then came NDK to tell us the ram was 512 mb, and when I asked him, as an aside, he dropped the bomb...NO RED BACK!!! Wow! The phone started to sound better to me! He said a lot of other things which are filed away somewhere. Okaaaay...this phone sounds red hot!

Then along came Stericson who said that there is onboard ROM in addition to a miniSD slot!!! No multi-touch issues like the N1, the sound is good, ans the speaker is good! (of course, you have that 8 mp camera!) Ok.. .this phone is smoking now!!!

All of this leads me back to the iPhone. With the specs of the Incredible being so far advanced, why would I want to go backwards to get the iPhone, I ask myself. Would I get it to be cool? No, that's not my way. I don't need an iPhone to be cool. ;) Would I want it for the huge sofware store? Meh..android's is fine.

Hmm... someone help me here. I can't think of a reason why I would purchase an iPhone when the Incredible is such a super amazing phone.

So.... it doesn't matter to me. I'm choosing the Incredible over the N1 AND the iPhone. Incredible is a win-win mini-computer/phone.

Just my musings.
