[Official] Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE Pre-release thread - Sprint official launch is Saturday, June 2

I know XDA has a similar thread, but id like to hear what you guys to say about it. Has anybody pre-ordered it yet? Whats the hype with LTE if only 4 cities are going to get it this year, and about half the country by 2014 (according to the leaked map at the orlando,FL conference)
 
OK, so here's the deal -

Around here, attack issues, not each other.

There's no reason for name calling. I've just started to clean up the thread. If you don't know what this post is about, it's because mods have deleted stuff.

We're all pals here - but don't go making Marc, pasta or me start handing out disrespectful posting infractions - because we will in a heartbeat if that's what it takes.

Now - be excellent to one another.

I just want to repeat my theory as a member, not mod -

I think the rapid changes in the delivery notice means that we're overloading Sprint with orders beyond their expectations and this is truly gearing up to original Evo-launch demand levels.

I don't mean to imply that they're out of stock or can't fill orders - no message updates imply that.

But they do sound like they stocked up ok, but didn't really expect this kind of buzz, as - let's face it - they haven't seen it since 2010.

In my opinion. ;) :)

I agree, I am waiting for the pre-order page to show sold out.
 
now all we need is to start seeing some thorough reviews on it, which should be any time now...that should give us all just enough time to piss, moan, reaffirm, hate, love, disagree, agree, say engadget's biased, say cnet's clueless, speculate about Evo 4, say we might cancel and get the gs3, start petitions to htc, love that my city's in the 6 list, hate the "4g" fee cuz I don't have lte, proclaim "EL TEvo" the best ever, proclaim sense the worst ever, look forward to iPhone 5, bash iPhones 1-5, wonder when we're getting a white one, wonder if earlymon, marctronixx, and neoterix are aliens cuz they know every damn thing (oh wait, that's just me), wonder what happened to RiverOfIce, and salivate over touching our very own El TEvo for the first time.....did I miss anything???:-)

(*footnote - LTEvo is our nickname for it, pronounced and sometimes written as EL TEvo - accept no substitutes, that was all invented in this forum ;) :))

Let's think about this. We pre ordered Monday and it said to be shipped on the 15th. The changed to back ordered. Then we have we are awaiting to announce the date and it will be shipped 1-3 business days after announced and then now you are 1 step closer. A lot o changes to our status today this true, but what if...what if this.

What if all theses changes are because as I was told last night, the phones are at te warehouse and they were just waiting on the official date. And right now since Monday our names are on those phones just waiting to be shipped.

Now all these changes all lead down to this...could it be that they might ship tonight? Usually shipping from Sprint, you do not get the tracking # from UPS as they do not pick up an the UPS system I not updated until UPS picks them up from Sprint. We preordered Monday and were told the official release date would be revealed within a few days. So far Sprint has kept their word.

When we preordered it said we Could possibly get it "before others get a glimpse". If they ship it tonight and we got them this week, that would be before others got a glimpse alright. Fingers crossed everyone.

I got my Evo 2 days after launch. Discovered to be cool, had to be at launch, so I made arrangements to get my 3vo on launch day. The cool kids (not being sarcastic, you know who you are ;) :)) got theirs a day or two before me thanks to pre-ordering.

If I wait until June 1 to pick mine up, I still get in on the Best Buy deal, and that's still less than 2 years since my Evo and still less than 1 year with my 3vo.

Not knocking anyone at all, and sure, maybe I'll be a little jealous - but honestly - I see me as coming out ahead of the game on the whole yearly update thing.

I could've gotten $150 in trade last year for my Evo, but kept it as a spare. Now I can keep my 3vo as a spare and still get $100 for my Evo the way Best Buy structures the trade-in plus gift card. So, I pay $200 for an Evo two years ago, and (effectively) trade it for $100 today. Pretty darned good for holding value on a trade in.

Plus, you cats will smoke out any show stoppers, like I have for others on the last two phones.

I don't know about y'all, but I think I'm winning. :)
 
im going to hold out until LTE comes to my area. Granted the specs are fantastic, screen, processor, memory (RAM and internal) and GPU, im still 100% satisfied with my 3vo. Im not going to lie, the EVO LTE looks amazing, both on paper and im sure people will verify this once they have it in hand in less than 2 weeks, but im going to be one of the people who hold out for the LTE service and and S-OFF (if possible) to happen before I decide to buy in. Hey, if its not broke, dont fix it right?
